I'm not saying your review is wrong or... and I haven't played the game yet. but I'm nearly sure that if you had written this review in 5 days ago you would score the game at least 9 or 9.5. but when 80% of critics have gave it a 10 then you began to score it different to show us that you're special!!! :| learn something from Roger Ebert.
My problems with Witcher 2 were these: 1) The Game story hasn't any major connection to The Witcher(1), I mean only 3 characters were imported from The first Witcher (The king Foltest that died in first chapter, Zoltan, Dandelion & The cute red hair Sorcerer). there wasn't any sign of Shani, princess Adda, Siegfried, the werewolf officer & your decisions from The Previous Witcher game (I wished that it be more like Mass Effect importing savegame). 2) Enviorment of the game was beautiful, I agree! but it wasn't interactive and besides the main quests there wasn't much to do in the game. side quests were rare & infrequent. 3) fighting gameplay & the level up system had lots of problems that we all know.
I know 35 times bigger map could be a good thing BUT it's not enough. I hope first of all they consider the above problems. because The Witcher Series is one of the best and my favorites, and I want it perfect.
@Savoritias there's no need to scare of good graphics; whats wrong to have Dragon Age; LA Noire Or Gears Of War With Better Graphics. Besides Now is The Golden Age Of Indie Games We Can Play Games Like Braid; Botanicula or Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet Other Than COD Or Battlefield Series; And Of course its about making money its an industry and always have been, even when legendary games like Doom Or Age Of Empires2 Or Neverhood were been released. I Enjoy Games Today As Much As I Enjoyed it 15years ago (And If I may not, its because I've Grown Older Not Because games gone worse), And I Think I Have more Options Today...
Difficulty of the game is unstable and unbalance. I mean In prologue and chapter 1 the game is difficult and very challenging, (I'm not saying its good or bad) and specially the battle with letho is very hard and cruel (I've died more than 30 times in that battle!). But exactly after beginning of chapter 2 the game turned very easy for me and I just died one more time to the end of the game... Actually I don't think gameplay of Witcher2 is exactly what CD Project Red had in his mind (in first place).
