because at the time it was only $20, and now i just keep it for the hell of it.tj78714That's why I did it originally, too. And to quickly download some E3 Half-life 2 videos I was impatient to get. Now I keep it because, in all honesty, there's so many irritating people on the internet, that I'd rather limit my interactions to people who--even if they do not share my opinions--are at least able and willing to put some money where their mouth is. People tend not to act quite as idiotic when they're paying for something.
Anyway, brought it back got one that seemed fine, but one screen seemed brighter than the other. Not horrible, but distracting. So I went back to BestBuy and had them bring me another one, it had a dead pixel. So I had them take it back, and bring another one. This one had even worse uneven screen lighting. So I had them bring me ANOTHER one. And this one seemed perfect, but I wasn't confident I wouldn't find something later, and after seeing the second discolored one, I realized the one I thought was discolored was actually not that bad. So I said I'd keep that one, and buy this one that looked perfect. I intended to bring back one of them, but I never did. So now I have two DS lites that work fine (knock on wood).
But yeah, I had similar probs with a video card. From BFG. It broke on its own. Sent it in. They sent it back, but it still had lots of graphical glitches. So I sent it back again. Got it back, seems ok. I could swear my system is less stable now, though.
With electronics as complex as they are now, it's very possible to have a string of bad luck. I've learned to be more tolerant of imperfect things. My PSP has a dead pixel, and I'm fine with it. That button issue you had is crazy, I'd write a nasty letter of complaint to Nintendo. Getting 4 or 5 broken DS's... that should be escalated to a manager, you might get some free stuff.
