I have a few questions.
Most of my problems with getting wi-fi on my Nintendo DS happen after we switched over from Comcast to Verizon last year, towards the start or summer or the end of spring. Previously, I had no problems. I would be able to connect through my old router or the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector without any problem whatsoever. The "old router" was replaced by the "new router" or the Actiontec. I noticed a problem when I first tried to set up a connection between my DS and the router. At the time, and to this day, it said that the router was supported. The internet connection shut down, and it would not work until I rebooted. It did for awhile, but stopped. I was able to get a connection. That was true until I lost it thirty seconds after. In short, it was giving me Error 52103. Summary: It meant that it was not getting the IP address, and recommended me to be as close as possible to the router. Mind you, I was sitting right next to it.
Then there was the fact that my internet connection would die if I used the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector on my computer. I believe that this might have to do with the fact that it is connected to the router. The other two computers (my laptop and my dad's computer) are connected wirelessly. Again, it took a reboot to get the internet up and running again. The USB Wi-Fi Connector is working---green light flashing, connection for a second before losing it, etc.
I got a new laptop--Sony Vaio with Vista. It only took me five minutes to find the download for Vista. I download it, install it, and plug it into my laptop. Bingo! Everything is working fine. I am getting a decent connection on Animal Crossing, Pokemon Diamond, and Pokemon Pearl. It seems that everything is working fine until the next day----now I was getting an error code telling me that I had some firewall blocking the connection. I remember blocking/disabling them, and they were still blocked/disabled. I need a quick system restore, and it worked...for a day.
I stopped downloading things, going on the internet, etc. That didn't help.
The only computer it works on is my dad's, and he's running Vista.
Any thoughts?
Some people have gotten it to work on their Actiontec. However, I like step-to-step directions.
Also, my Nintendo USB Wi-Fi USB Connector is on it's last legs. After a few months of these problems, it broke. All I did was drop it on my bed. It still works. It is being held together by glue and tape. I am thinking of buying one off of eBay, or get something similar. Suggestions are welcomed.
