Back to TV.com

Whoa boy, it feels like it's been a while since I was on TV.com last. Well, I'm back just in case anybody cares (you probably don't lol). Yeah, I was on IMDB.com for the past few months, posting things on there. Hey, it's a great site by the way. Here's my profile if you're interested in checking it out: http://www.imdb.com/user/ur12011873/boards/profile I'm back to TV.com where I can bash and rave about The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. all I want!

Summer baby, yeah!

Whew boy, I'm finally back on tv.com. If anyone noticed (you probably didn't), I've been gone for weeks. Yeah, it's because of the whole schools out thing. I've been parting like there's no tomorrow! It's summer, thank god!! Yeeeaahhh!! Bring out the confetti and marching bands!!

Yeah, I'm just going to relax for the next two months. Not doing anything really special. Hope everyone has a good summer.

Halloween 1978 Vs. Halloween 2007

VS.

I just thought I'd make a blog about this. Okay, so the question is: which one is better? The original halloween or the new remake? Here's what I thought of both films:

Halloween 1978: This is definately a true horror movie and among the best of all time. Great character development, although I don't think Sheriff Brackett was really developed that much. Besides that, there are excellent scares here. Carpenter really knows how to build suspense. What's also excellent is the brilliant music score. Heh, talk about a creepy theme! How Carpenter thought of that is beyond me.

Halloween 2007: Alrighty, here we go. This movie was okay I must say. Of course when compared to the original, this is crap. But still, it was entertaining to sit through. I liked how Zombie gave us Michael's backstory, although I will admit that it was much creepier not knowing much about him. He actually has a MOTIVE here, whereas in the 1978, he's just an evil, emotionless, killing machiene. The execution was fair, and as for the character development......well, they actually had some. Which is good and bad. What's good is that there is a lot more than in other recent horror flicks. The bad is that we hardly care for any of the characters at all. I actually wanted Laurie to die. Which is strange, because I had so much affection for the old Laurie played by Jamie Lee Curtis. And talk about her friends. I wanted them to die the most of all. Which is again strange, because I czred about them in the old version, where they were portrayed as innocent and fun. Here they are like dirty swearing hoars. Why would we care what happens to THEM?

I think it's obvious that the old Halloween beats the remake. Besides the backstory, I didn't think there was anything really new in the remake. It just felt like a rehash of the first film, except with more blood, swearing, and nudity.

The Cleveland Show Coming Soon. Oh Freakin God.

This is my worst nightmare come alive. Seth is really making a family guy spinoff starring that annoying unfunny Cleveland that it will air next spring. Heh, judging from the previews, it looks like it'll be a flop. And I hope it will be. Really, I honestly don't think Family Guy deserves a spinoff. Well, they once deserved it, but that was back in 2004 when the show actually had good and clever humour. If they were ever going to do a spinoff, it should of been when they were allowed new episodes after being cancelled for a year. Watch the dreadful preview below if you dare (sigh).

Jason X Review

Okay, so as a horror movie fan, AND a friday the 13th fan, I decided to give this one a try. It was online at youtube. After I watched it, I really didn't get all the terrible reviews with people saying that it was 'awful' and that it was the worst in the series. I have to strongly disagree with that. The worst in the series were either Jason Goes To Hell or Jason Takes Manhattan. Those just plain out SUCKED. SUCKED!! Anyway, I thought the plot was very original compared to the previous sequels. I mean come on, you have to admit that the idea of jason aboard a space craft is the future is pretty neat. There was barely any character development, but hey, when have ANY of the friday the 13th films cared about that? Moving on, there were some mediocre parts in the film that I think is the reason why people didn't like it. But that didn't affect the whole movie for me, which is good. Now, I think my favorite parts in this film are the ones that have humour in them. Like the scene where jason is in a virtual camp crystal and beats up the virtual female counselors in their sleeping bags. THAT was hilarious, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. There were some other funny parts too, which is one of the main reasons why I enjoyed this film. Now there are a few drawbacks. One that I'll mention is that I didn't like how they changed jason's original old hockey mask into this weird updated future-istic one. I don't know, it just kind of ruined the character for me. Another is that there were several unrealistic things that happened (sorry if this is vague, but it might take up too much space if i list everything that was unrealistic). Overall, even though it wasn't great, it still managed to hold my interest. I wouldn't stay it's worth a buy, but the least you can do is either rent it or watch it for free online (yeah I know you'd rather watch it online than spend money).

The Simpsons Ride Is Here!! Videos From Ride Are Posted Below

It's finally here!!! Well, almost. It opens May 16th and May 17th to Universal. I know I'll be camping next to the theme park overnight. First in line? I doubt it. Here's one of the links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Simpsons_Ride

Oh god, I am just so perked up for this. Go on youtube and type in "simpsons ride". The outside looks amazing. And now they are even doing "test" rides. I feel jealous of the people who get to test it out. If you don't believe me, look: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4o-W5KJiMjE

Digital Broadcasting

Ugh, this is terrible! Who else feels furious about this? In 2009 all tv's will stop working unless we have this certain cable box or something like that. AAARRGHH!! I have my parents television set in my bedroom. My parents bought it back in 1978 and even now it's still running strong! Because of this stupid digital broadcasting requirment, we'll have to trash the tv because it'll be no good next year. That just really ticks me off. I can't believe we'll be forced to give up a magnificant tv like that. Does anyone else face a similar problem? Grrr.....

Cool Hills Have Eyes Music Video

I found this on youtube, and can't get enough of it! One of the reasons is because it's a music video to one of my favorite horror films of all time. Second of all the song being played is California Dreamin by the Mama and Papa's. BEST VOCAL GROUP EVER. Check it out, it's really interesting. Here's the link:

SuttSteve on YouTube

Suttsteve is by far the best guy on youtube (next to michael buckley from WHATTHEBUCK). He's funny, intelligent, and all around makes great videos! I love his webisode series called The Portal. Really neat sci-fi show, with some good animation. Amazing how one person could do all this by himself. If you're bored on the computer or want to kill some time, i suggest watching this. Here's a link to all the videos if you're interested:

http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=suttsteve&search_query=the+portal&search=Search

You know, the main reason I love this series is because I'm totally blown away at how Steve can combine an awesome plot, action, and humour in every episode and make all of it work.
