Having the same problem and through ethernet. I have Comcast. What I think is going on is that 550,000+ people on Xbox live is making the few servers MS have go ballistic. This is what I read. I'll try tomorrow hopefully it'll be fixed. Glad it's just not my xbox. :P

I am dealing with the same thing. Go with the Halo 3 Special edtition console BECAUSE its coming with A) an HDMI and B) its coming with the new Falcon 65nm processor. This means it will be less likely to over heat causing the red ring of death.

Dont get Vista for a while because there are a lot of kinks in it still, I like XP all you'd probably need to upgrade is your GPU. I found a cheap DX10 card that used to be really expensive like 4 moths ago, click here to see it.

I like 1080i only because on my TV 720p has a greenish tint. What I think I heard is that if there is a lot of motion 720p is better but with not a lot of motion the picture its a clearer picture. I'm not sure though.

Wait for Crackdown I've played Dead Rising before and I thought it was fun but I think it was going to get repetitive. If you want to try Crackdown there is always a demo of it on XBL. And also Crackdown does come with a limited edition Halo 3 Beta multiplayer. I'm probably going to buy Crackdown. But it is your choice, if you have a spare 20$ to spend + money for Crackdown well then you can buy both  But I think you should wait. (I'm kind of in this situation too. I'm wondering to get a cheap game now or wait for the sweet open-ended sandbox world of Crackdown + the hot brute on spartan multiplayer action!!)

Good point, I have played the demo many times. With the co-op feature will make it more fun. Although I have played this demo several times, the demos in some cases are more fun. Such as I loved the CofD 2 demo I played it several times, but when I switched over to the real game I kind of got bored with it. I'm just putting up a devils advocate. Do not let me sway your opinion I think I will get this game mainly because of Halo 3 Beta. If it didnt include this I would probably just rent it. Don't think anyone I know will get this so co-op won't be that much fun for me. On the other hand Halo 3 is giving me the heebee jeebees! So I say if you have a little money in your pocket or been saving up for this go and buy it, or wait for the wonderful Gamespot.com to rate it and then get it and hope there's still that one copy of limited edition Halo 3 Beta for you. Mmmmm Halo + Crackdown.

I'm not sure if I have too much experiance with the Xbox 360 but if you do not have warrenty on your Xbox 360 I would prolly open it up myself. If you do have a warranty with it go return it for a new one. Also you may want to lay it on the side, I do not know if this would help but there may be a build up of moisture in the Xbox having it come up through the holes may help it. I don't think it will turn ablaze but if it does, you always have your water bottle right there.
