so i've finally decided what i'm gonna be putting into my new machiene (thanks again to the kind gamespot forum goers who assisted)

Core bits include :

* Intel core i7 920
* Asus P6T LGA1366 mobo
* Antec SG-850 850W PSU
* 2x Gigabyte ATI 1Gb HD4890 GPUs in CrossFireX
* 6Gb DDR3 RAM
* CoolerMaster HAF-932 case
* & some other bit & pieces.

& now i've gotta buy it. I'm looking for a online retailer, preferably in NSW who delivers & strikes a decent balance between service, reliability and price.

at the moment, im looking at umart.net & was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions?

Cheers.

What are you going to be using this for? If its for photoshop and the like, you can get the nVidia Quadro FX. If you are going to be gaming I can put together a killer machine with $3000, although $1500 should suffice.

Tagerh
used for gaming, music & photo / movie editing. & im open to suggestions for a killer machine for about $3K

Ok, after hearing what advice i've been given, i'm looking at something like this :

SCREEN 1x Asus VW246H 24" LCD 1920x 1080, Full HD, 2ms, 20000:1, Speakers, DVI, HDMI1.3, D-sub
PSU 1x Antec SG-850 850W Signature Series ATX Power Supply, 80 PLUS certified, 80mm low noise fan, Dual 12V outputs, 2x PCI-Express, 4x SATA, 6x IDE
MOBO 1x Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P LGA1366, X58, 6DDR3, FSB2000, RAID, GBLAN, PCIE2.0, 3FW, UD3, ATX
RAM 1x Corsair TR3X6G1333C9 6G (2GB x 3) PC-10600 (1333MHz) XMP DDR3 RAM 32x240-pin DIMMs Triple Kit Non ECC Unbuffered 9-9-9-24
CPU1x Intel i7 920 CORE i7 920 2.66GHz 4.8GT QPI 8MB CACHE LGA1366

Now I just need to find a place to get it done cheap.

Hey all,

I need a new PC. & i'm a wee bit rubbish with the technical side of building em, so i'm asking for any suggestions etc. that could help me, or anyone else who may be in the same boat. I've got a rough idea of what i want, but want to hear the ideas of more experienced PCgamers before I commit.

The budget is ~$3000

any help is appreciated.

Cheers :)
