This tells us precisely nothing. 60 FPS at 1080P doesn't even begin to describe a game's performance. Is it on low, medium, high, or ultra? Does it use ambient occlusion and anti-aliasing? What level of texture filtering is being used? How about tessellation? How many players are allowed in Conquest games?
Another sales pitch from and to people who know nothing about the technical side of games. I won't be impressed until they start talking nitty gritty and stop using broad generalizations.
There are two sides to this issue. Expectedly, everyone here seems to be taking the staunchly consumer stance that if you've paid for a game you should be able to play it online whenever you want forever. But is it really reasonable to expect that every game ever released and bought by even a small group of people be supported indefinitely? Surely not. You can't expect companies to commit to eternal online support for every title no matter how small its user base becomes. Over the course of even 5 or 6 years that can become hugely expensive. I do agree that shutting down servers after only 17 months (yikes!) is a little ridiculous, but there needs to be a compromise. EA should agree to maintain servers for a reasonable amount of time (2-3 years for console titles and double that for PC servers since those populations are generally less transient) regardless of player base size and use a base-size threshold for determining which ones stay online after that point. Jumping up and down and telling a profit-driven company that they should support every game they've ever published forever is completely ridiculous.
This is potentially one of the least professional, most irrelevant articles I've ever read. You didn't like a trailer so you felt the need to write a full page summarizing all the reasons you didn't like it complete with written childish imitations of noises you hated? As if that wasn't bad enough, you then tried to extrapolate your dislike for the minute long trailer into an attack against a game you havent even played a full build of yet. Regardless of what you think MW3 will be, there's not enough information in this trailer to make any judgement about the final game. You should know that as a games journalist. Then again, maybe this is why you don't do reviews anymore; you write like an angry 12 year old. Now I just need to find your name so I can avoid anything you write in the future and save myself the lost brain cells that result from reading idiotic rants such as this one. Yuck.
