hmmm 1) Why would you return it to the store if you have to wait for them to get the replacement from Sony? Only reason to have a store warranty is immediate replacement / quick fix
2) Why didn't you send it straight to Sony......???

The warranty said it was a purchase from the shop, so I thought it would be their responsibility not Sony's
Well this is the deal updated to just 15 minutes ago.
- The store I bought my PS3 is called 'Intertoys' it is a Dutch toys store (I don't know if it's also international and that is not really relevant).
- My dad happens to know the owner, they played on the same soccer team for 15 years when they were still young and full of life (now they have become managers of a toy-store or have other boring jobs. This is also not relevant.). So we went together and talked to him in person from the beginning. This was on a monday, they could only send my ps3 to sony on a friday since that is the day when trucks come to do these kind of things.
- As I mentioned before, it would take them about 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks and 1 day I called them, they asked to wait another week so I did, still nothing
- Just 15 minutes ago my dad all of a sudden reminded to have spoken to the manager on the phone just today (I, of course, did not understand why he would take so long to come up with it only now! It's 11:05 PM right now..). He was told that the Dutch section of Sony have been having serious problems with their stock, so they could not just give me a new blu-ray laser. His response was 'is that our fault?'. No it's not, said the manager. Then he promised that the next ps3 that entered the Intertoys' building would immediately go to us. Which is good but they don't expect a new shipment until the end of this week / half the way next week.
By the way, good English for a Dutch 16-year old right!
Go and complain the hell out of the store you got it from. Make a big ruckus saying things like this is stupid, you guys are way over the due date and that you didn't pay for the guarantee to be treated like this. They will give you something for free :DLiquid-Prince
I suppose I could bring something like that up, but I don't think it's their fault but more Sony's...
Approximately a month ago, I was one happy fella. I was sitting at home, watching National Geograpic's 'Amazing Planet' on blue-ray on 1080i when all of a sudden the image froze. I rebooted everything and still nothing. I thought the disk could be damaged and that would be a shame. Things only got uglier when my PS3 didn't read any disk at all, CDs, DVDs or games could no longer be run on my playstation.
Of course, I went to the local toyshop where I bought the system in the first place. I still had the guarantee certificate so I didn't worry about it. I figured it would take maybe one week to find myself playing again.
Unfortunately this wasn't the case. They said it would take them 2 to 3 weeks to have Sony repair it and send it back to them. It's not that long but I still disliked the idea of not being able to play for 2 1/2 weeks.
Like I mentioned in the beginning of my story, it's already a month ago now and they still have not recieved my ps3 back from Sony. I've called them last week only to hear that it would be saterday or maybe monday before they would get it back. Today's tuesday and still no PS3.
Lame.
I'm dying to buy a game that features a good co-op mode to play together with my roommate. I thought Army of Two would be the perfect solution to that. But now most of the things I'm hearing say that it's just a disappointment.
So what I'm asking you is, do you know some other game that's fun to play cooperatively? It doesn't necessarily have to be co-op, but I would like to play a game with a friend and not just a single player campaign and then a few offline multiplayer maps where one can shoot another.
If you think army of two still is worth while for me even though there are a lot of elements in it that make the game not that good, please convince me to it!
I've also thought about FIFA or PES but those games weren't outstanding either (I know FIFA got an 8.5 here on gamespot but they know nothing about football here I guess...)
So basically I'm asking you to give suggestions about games that feature a great off-line multiplayer mode.
Thank you a lot in advance!
