ZOE is still one of my favorites and probably one of the best IPs of last generation. If a new one is on the way, I hope it offers some major customization options. That was the only thing that I felt was lacking in the first two.

The way that they talk about the DS, I wouldn't be surprised. Heck, I currently use my DS to browse the web, take notes, read books, listen to music, watch movies, and navigate Chicago (I have a few maps downloaded to it). I also use it to play JRPG's during my commute (train, not driving). Its kind of a swiss army knife, and I wouldn't mind the Wii becoming that.

Just cause it plays video games doesn't mean that it must be limited to that. And if Nintendo can keep coming up with new functionalities, I'm not going to complain. Its not like there won't be another Mario, Zelda, Starfox, Metroid, and Pikmin before the next console comes out.

I'm just saying this divergence is good, and I think that its a perfect fit for nintendo which is really appealing to casual gamers. I still want more games like No More Heroes and Umbrella Chronicles (which my wife enjoys in co-op), but I think that Nintendo's innovation is passing far beyond controllers. This is a game built purely for musical fun. Maybe it doesn't appeal to you, but you know what... I don't like racing games. Its just my opinion. I feel that this kind of game is a genre of its own, for lack of better term: Games Without Score. Its not a music game, its a game for the sake of playing a game.

I could be wrong, the game could be terrible, but I think its ideas and basis are good. Like everything else, I'll rent it first and then pass judgement.

Ok, before my remains are wiped from the walls and floor (hopefully not the ceiling) by the barrage of feedback from hardcore gamers, let me explain:

My girl likes games, she doesn't love them, she likes them. She grew up with an NES and we play Baldurs Gate and Gauntlet together. She doesn't like Rock Band. She puts up with it because I like it.

My friends and I play Rock Band and have a blast/cuss at the tv and or guitar/microphone/drums for not working. We aren't musical geniuses, heck hard gives us a run for our money. We are normally stone silent (not the vocalist) while we play our set. Its fun, but we aren't too competetive and its really not that fun for our better halves.

Thus, I like the idea of Wii Music. Non competetive, easy access for anyone, nostalgic content. Not to mention 30 instruments. I see this as the game that a group of 8 of us can play joining and leaving whenever we feel like it.

Finally, I can play this with my daughter; she's 2. How sweet is that.
