@thedoctor_309: Overall the 950 is a far better card than the 750Ti in both power consumption and performance. But are those enough to justify upgrading to the 950? I really don't think it's worth it. How about this... save up a few more dollars and just make the leap to a 960 instead. Chances are you would end up being much happier with the snappier performance over a GTX 950.

Truth be told, the 950's should release around the $160 price point. The cheapest 960 goes for $174.99 and offers even more performance over a 950 for just $15 more.

Also, consider even a GTX 770 which is faster still and can be picked up for $199.99. The 770 offers even more performance than both 950 or 960 but is less energy efficient because it is the older Kepler architecture.

@rawrrrson: I really feel that it's still a bit too early to shell out the cash for 4k gaming. For one thing, modern high-end GPU's still fall behind when pushing so many pixels. Even the top of the line GPU's can be hit or miss when gaming at 4k resolution. GPU's are just not quite there yet in my humble opinion to reliably push 4k.

Second, prices for anything 4k and/or the GPU's you would need to game in 4k resolution are absurdly expensive. If you're able to wait, maybe 1-2 years, 4k will eventually become a very viable upgrade and prices will become much more reasonable. At the moment, 4k gaming is absurdly expensive to get up and running. And even then, you may just find out that it's not quite running up to snuff. For viable 4k gaming, be prepared to shell out cash for expensive, multiple, high-end GPU's along with the high costs of quality 4k monitor(s) and high-end PC components.

TL;DR -- I would wait just a little longer still to make the jump to 4k gaming. Maybe consider 1440p in the meantime.

@joseph_mach: Depends on what your needs are. If it is just for more performance in gaming then no it's not worth upgrading. If you need better performance for, say, video editing or general, every day computing then I would say definitely! Go for it!

@TrooperManaic: The Nvidia GTX 560's are definitely long in the tooth these days. If your budget can allow it consider upgrading to something relatively newer. You'll get dramatically improved frame rates over any of the 500 series GPU's.

@SPBoss: You know the best way to answer your question? When the day comes and your computer is chugging along when you want to do something on it then that's when you should upgrade. If you don't currently have that problem with your games or applications then you have no need for an upgrade.

Consider upgrades when you find the need for it because you're not getting the performance you desire from what you need your PC to do.

@elessarGObonzo: To answer your question: Yes, it is still jacked up. Don't even bother! Windows 10 can't work miracles.

@klunt_bumskrint: I would love one! Still on the fence about pre-ordering ANYTHING these days. I've been burned so many times by pre-ordering and I just don't want any more of it (Batman: Arkham Knight still stings!).
