actually if you have a good reciever then the hdmi cable is better than the optical cable. With the hdmi cable you can have high def audio such as dolby true hd and dts-ma where the optical doesnt have the bitrate to passthrough high def audio. But in your case plugging the cable directly to the tv doesnt make a difference, but if your thinking about the difference between stereo sound and true high def 7.1 audio (which the ps3 can do but not the 360 haha lemmings) think of the difference between a ps2 game on a standard def tv and a ps3 game on a high def tv. Yes the difference is that big!jon_cia

He's totally right. I'm lucky enough to have a high quality receiver with HDMI 1.3 capabilites which can take advantage of PS3's highest audio output. My 7.1 setup really shows a difference between HDMI 1.3 and optical, considering optical can't do true 7.1. If you don't mind spending the money on audio, I'd suggest getting a receiver instead of using your tv speakers...

7 megs is great. You will have a smooth onilne experience AND people can stream and download on the other computers at the same time.

Hard wire the ethernet connection though. It's more stable than wifi.

PS3 won't recognize NTFS. So It'll only read from the fat32. Do you have everything on FAT32 partition?

If so, then try this. When viewing the USB HDD under PHOTO or MUSIC, before clicking it, put the cursor over it, hit TRIANGLE and then choose SHOW ALL (or something to that effect). That should do the trick.

You have to set your device to pairing mode. THEN scan for it. The PS3 should pick it up.

I don't know what you're all on about. I just tried a myriad of xvid encoded files all in the .avi containers and they all worked, with better quality it seems than my 360. But I need to look closer to come to that conclusion. Also, my divx encoded files in the .avi containers worked. I have not tried wmv since I have nothing in that format.

Though it might have similar elements, it lacks what makes gears a game that I haven't traded in yet - online multiplayer. The reason I still have Uncharted is because it has a good story line, something that Gears sorely lacks.

I have tried files using the divx and xvid codecs on the 360 all in .avi containers. They all worked. Quality was pretty good. I haven't tried an actual DviX file yet.

Got one, but no one talks. No one communicates on UT3. It's annoying.

ANY bluetooth headset will work. The code is usually 0000 (four zeros). You need to set the headset to pairing mode (the blue light will most likely be flashing) and then ask your PS3 to search for the bluetooth device. Enter the four zeros and you should be set.
