Please bear with me, this is my first foray into the blogging world.:)

Let me start by saying "Thank God, it isn't another St. Anger!" Now, with that out of the way, this CD is their best since their self-titled and monstrous album, "Metallica" a.k.a. the black album. It harkens back to their thrash roots while not completely discarding everything learned on the albums since "Metallica". Most notably, is the effect new bassist, Robert Trujillo, has added. The band would be grinding along on some nice, driving, punch you in the face riff, when you listen a little closer and hear a funky bassline that you wouldn't think would work, but it does. As much as I like Jason Newstead, I must say that this new take on the bassline is quite refreshing. All in all, this album is a good one, and while it isn't another Puppets, it is the best we've had in 17 years. My only question is "How are these old men going to shread this hard night after night?"
