Ignorance on Message Boards
by smileyryder34 on Comments
I have been trolling message boards now for many years. I don't always post on them as most of the time I find the people on them ignorant, and quite frankly, less than intelligent. When someone posts something that they want an honest answer to and they're immediately flamed, I find this absolutely ridiculous. Message boards are intended to be a spot for people who have similar interests to hold a "conversation" with each other and to constructively discuss issues that they have in common. I understand that many people post the same thing over and over again, and they sometimes get repetitive, but that is no reason to call them "stupid" or to tell moderators to lock the post because it's already been discussed. Is it really that hard to take 2 seconds and post to someone that the topic has been discussed and point them in the direction of the discussion so they can also take part? I generally take a few minutes to scan a board to see if the topic I want to discuss has been discussed in the past. If it has then I simply post my comments in the discussion and continue it from there. If you have the time to flame someone for a question or comment that they have, then you probably need to find something else to do and you have no place on the message board. If I see someone flaming someone it irritates me to no end because it's immature and stupid. I'll let you know too. Take that time to post a decent comment and help the person. Do not berate them for asking their question. They have questions much like you do and would like to have them answered. If there's no "official" answer to they're question let them no, but don't call them stupid or ignorant. They're not.
