i have no problems with my first build which i got it in 2007. i actually expected to run into more problems then i have, it's to be expected to have problems with old games that ran on older operating systems.

all the new games i ahve tried have worked flawlessly, and even system shock 2 installed perfectly (and plays perfectly... so far) including the enhancement mods for it.

While you will never beat the build of consoles such as the snes or wii where build quality is fantastic, you have a much higher chance of your ps2 or 360 breaking then a pc.

As for the games argument the pc has more aaa exclusives than all the consoles combined here on gamespot, and superior multiplats (mostly). Not to mention great rpgs like the witcher and fps games like stalker and crysis.

I completely disagree. The PC is a wonderful gaming platform, it's just more complicated than most other consoles. And a well built PC can last much longer than a lot of consoles. (RROD anyone?) And the PC *does* have more sophisticated games, compare Halo Wars to Sins of a Solar Empire, or try to imagine playing World of Warcraft on a Wii.

An official response to rumours by Remedy:

"Thank you for your continued interest in Alan Wake. It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it's safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher."
