Also can i ask, are they fun to play, or are they more hardcore survival horror games? Im not massively into story based games, but im getting bored of just playing multiplayer fps's :P

yes on highest sans aa and af or at high with 2aa and 2af

ionusX

What is Sans AA or AF? This is also good for WoW yes? I recently built my own PC :P the only games I've been playing on it are BF2 and Command and Conquer 3 lol.

WoW is about as easy tor un as C&C 3

anti-aliasing and anti-sotopic filtering

basically they smooth out corners and textures.

ill give you an example go play bf2 and turn the quality down low and find some stiars or a box or a doorway. stare at it long enough and you will see little blocks.

these and known as jaggies. aa and af help smooth these out.

exit the game and open the nvidia controller and find the settings for the two and set em to x16 or whatever their limit as and CHANGING nothing else go back to that same location from beofre. you will see fewer to none of those little jagged textures or blocks.

aa and af are very hardware demanding however nvidia got the formula right as the cost it being a very bloated system long ago but amd is just catching on with their cards.. BUT their way of doing it doesnt hurt preformance nearly as bad.

anyway sometime you can actually make a game look BETTER on medium or high full full aa dn af than it does maxed out without it.

aa and af generally arent touched in console ported games their a pc only thing and one of the primary reasosn why pc's are always going to be the better platform a console cant process aa and af and never will you need a far more robust OS and proper hardware none of this customized nonesense. and if they would do that then your essentially turning them all into pc's and making them redundant and just as expensive.

and as the generation gap between pc hardware and console grow this is going to get more apparent in 5 years you will be lucky if they even BOTHER with consoles.. why aa and af are getting alot harder to do without.

halo and gta 4 and prime examples of where a game failed to hide them. gta 4 hides it so bad we know its there and halo doesnt try to at all. which si why its ugly as sin on lowest quality.

I think AF has to be on max otherwise textures dont look as good, also imo its more important than AA

Well i use 4gb of standard ddr2 ram, its work perfectly with games and applications (i dont do video editing though). So really, if you want to save more money, i'd buy ddr2 if i was you. Apparently theres not much difference between ddr2+3 anyway :P

Go on the steam site and contact steam support. You might have to cancel the credit card as well, asap.

Did you activate the console for MW2? If so, that's why VAC flagged your copy of MW2....

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7849-RADZ-6869

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

VAC is enabled on all multiplayer servers, public and private. Any modifications to the game other than editing config files can result in a VAC ban. Examples of such modifications include console enablers, VAC disablers, and server hosting mods.

A VAC ban in Modern Warfare 2 only affects Modern Warfare 2."

If it only affects modern warfare 2 then whats the big deal? god..

I have Bioshock installed on my SSD and it STILL takes forever to load. I'd really like to know what the devs did to make the game load so inefficiently.gameguy6700
Yeah its a joke to be honest, when you open it, does it take a while just to start up? I have to wait nearly 20 secs just for the splash screen to come up!

Do you have the Demo instaled,I had copy protection issues, back then.If so,uninstal the Demo, and the game and clean it out of your registry, than reinstal your game again.

Run in compatibility mode for XP,and lower your resolution.Does the task manager say running or not responding?

Dantus12

nope, my registry is fine as well, i cleaned it out not long ago. Its the game itself, it just sucks, every other game i run loads/runs fine. I can try it in xp compatibility but i cant see it making a difference. When i click it and wait for the splash screen to load, if i press ctrl, alt delete then it says programme not responding..but it does eventually load.

Running out of ideas, wasnt better for me either back then on XP 64 bit. What solved it for me was a complete Realtek Audio driver reinstal.Looks like your board is using them as well.

Yep, im using Realtek audio HD integrated sound, maybe thats the issue. I dont think im gonna bother messing around with it though, for the sake of 1 game, thanks for helping anyways, appreciate it :)
