Get the GTX 460 and upgrade the Monitor Later when you have the money. I don't know why every bodies giving you so much hassle about what size monitor they think you should get. If your happy with it keep it

Yeah i know lol, they have a good point though, i just didnt realise that i was gaming at such low res. Im trying to sell it now anyway, because i figured its best making the most of the gpu by getting a higher res monitor and also a 27" lcd isnt exactly doing my eyes any favours lol xD. Wish me luck, looks like its going on ebay soon! :)

I'd say get the 460, and the 1gb version if you can afford it. You will be able to play games at very high settings for a fair while with that card.angrules23
What do you think about getting a new monitor? Is it worth the hassle?

Well I didn't know your monitor was that size, but if its clear as day to you then I wouldn't worry. I was referring to 23" monitors. (~$100)

Yeah i dont feel the need to upgrade, its crystal clear and if i was to sell it i wouldn't get much money anyway :P. Im just wondering whether or not to splash out on a gtx 460, it could well be over kill, but having said that wouldnt it then be more future proof?

If I were you (assuming that you pick up the new card), I would seriously consider picking up a 23" full 1920 X 1080 monitor around black Friday. You can grab a pretty decent one for ~$100 and I honestly think you would enjoy it much more.

well both are massive overkill for your res, but if you are planning on upgrading your monitor soon to a 1080p one then the 1gb 460 is the go.angrules23

Hi guys, im set on getting a gtx 460 for my birthday, now i game at 1360x768, which isn't exactly a high res, but would a gtx 460 1gb be the best or would you recommend the 768mb versions?

When I bring up the server list theres about 10-15 servers that have a ping of zero. I've tried playing in them but the game just seems to stall and then kick me out. Anyone know what they are?

No, but why does it matter? Cant you just go on the hundreds of other servers that should be available?

I think though in terms of raw game play, cs 1.6 is better, there's just more skill to it. On source a lot of spraying goes on and pre-firing which is fine, but sometimes annoying because kills can be down to luck, not skill. 1.6 has very poor graphics though, so thats one thing you'll have to put up with if you want to play it.
