Umm, it must have been July or August of 1998 that I first got a hold of my first turn based strategy game for the original PS console. Really loved the PS at the time and I was willing to give ANY game a go. The name of the game?: Final Fantasy Tactics! Though there were cutesy characters (even the bad guys hehe) the complex storyline really pulled me into the flow of the game. The strangest thing that I managed to do (really by sheer blind luck) was to unlock Cloud Strife ON MY FIRST PLAY!

I would encourage anyone who missed out on this great title to check out the up coming PSP title FFT: War of the Lions. Before that game is released however, I would honour the memory with popping that old cd (hope it still works)into my ageing PS2 and begin the journey through Ivalice (not Ihavelice) once more...
