I took Barrett down with a pistol painlessly. I used level 1 stealth to get behind him immediately and then stunned him with the stun gun. I wasn't sure if it was doing thing, so I kept trying to see an effect. Probably about 6 or 7 times. Each time you stun him he doesn't move. Finally I switched to the pistol and put about three shots in his head. Cutscene.
