Hello, hello to everyone! Well, it's that time of the year again, a time of reflection and self discovery and budgeting as to how much damn money you spent on games! As 2009 comes close to and end and I sit back and remember the year that was..games wise. I actually didn't expect much from this year to be honest, but fortune saw differently and I was once again amazed by the things people can create and experience through this awesome media! Anyhow, I'm hear to list my categories and nominees for game(s) of the year! Yes, I know it's contrived and everyone does it by the end of the year but, I hopefully will have some fun and fairly original categories. So please, enjoy and I'll be announcing the winners by the end of December. Also feel free to comment your opinions of my choices. Oh, there are still a few games that I don't think are going to make the list this year, i.e. Assassins Creed 2, LBP PSP, or Dragon Age. Hopefully I'll find the time and money to play these sometime in the near future!

Man, oh man what a year! I never thought I'd spend this much time and money on games, but what can I say '08 was one hell of a year. I had originally decided on making a whole list of categories and such but, I've decided to just list my favorite games of '08. There is just no way I could pick just one.

And the winners are:

LOST ODYSSEY

As a long time fan of JRPG's, L.O. was right up my alley. Great cast of characters, good story and fun game-play makes this my RPG of '08.

DEVIL MAY CRY 4

DMC4 came out early in the year, and it seems a lot of people have forgotten about it. Sure the story was something to be desired, but when has DMC been about story. If you want non-stop, finger hurtin', demon slaying action, look no further. This is also one of the best looking games of '08. Just go out and play it, OK!

GOD OF WAR: CHAINS OF OLYMPUS

I don't think many could argue that the PSP had a definite lack of titles this year. But, GOW almost made up for that fact. Kratos is as bad-ass as ever in his first hand held adventure, not only does this game look and play great but it has one of the best soundtracks of '08.

LITTLE BIG PLANET

With it's undeniable charm, great soundtrack, awesome graphics and super cute mascot LBP is hard to hate. The social gaming aspects of LBP definitely make it ahead of it's time. Unfortunately this title has been marred by a bevy of delays, and controversy that some would say hurt the overall performance of this great title. LBP is still coming into it's own and I believe by the end of '09 it will be a must have title. But it's still a great game to have in your collection today.

CASTLE CRASHERS/PIXEL JUNK EDEN (FAVORITE DOWNLOAD GAMES)

Fun with friends or just playing solo, CC was the best download game this year hands down. A great old school vibe with some awesome game-play and plenty of humorous moments made this one of my favorite impulse buys.

With a soundtrack as trippy as the visuals, I really enjoyed playing this one.

I choose these games not only for their amazing graphics, game-play or soundtracks, but I really did have themost fun with them; and that's what playing games should be all about,right!?

Pretty fun game but could of been so much more.

STREET FIGHTER 2: HD REMIX

To be honest I'm not sure why I bought this game, I guess I totally bought into the hype. I'm a moderate SF fan and I am looking forward to SF4, but something about this one just didn't connect with me. I think this one is for the hardcore SF fan only.

So that's it, 2008 was a great year and I'm sure '09 will be full of surprises!!

Im making this list so as to make a "best of" list for '08 at years end. Because I belive '08 will be an even bigger year than '07!
