Or rather, Andromeda and Hitman. I have yet to play either game but Andromeda was buried from the start, with the negative reaction from announcement to release. There was no chance given, no quarter taken. Then again, the trailers and game play videos did not seem to help. Everything looked like it was a simple update of the past games and as a massive fan of the trilogy, I was looking for more but apart from some lsight updates to the planets, they seemed to regress. They had even less aliens than the original trilogy, how is that possible?

In terms of Hitman, I think all of us had a lot t osay about the episodic nature and most of it was negative. Honestly, they deserved it, didn't they? Who should be allowed to get away with releasing a game, one level at a time? No one, that is who. Now, I'm not sure why these two games felt the true force of gamers and SF 5 got away scott free, or Battlefront was such a big success. Tekken 7 seems to be following a similar path, releasing with 2 modes and I'm sure the rest will be available via dlc...not to mention a number of fighters.

Should more games feel our wrath? Leading to developers and publishers rethinking strategy?

@Jacanuk: I know it's digital foundry, that doesnt change the still very loose, floaty controls of the original, which has aged poorly and in all honesty, has not been remastered that well on the controls front

@Jacanuk: I would not believe that video entirely. I have the collection and the controls in UC1 are still very floaty and very ineffective. UC2 and 3 work a lot better, then again they were a lot better upon release anyway.

@pug987: I'm not saying you can't see the difference between 30-60, I'm saying it's not game brekaing, not by miles. On top of all that, it is nowhere near the big deal modern day PC gamers have made it out to be, especially as the graphical fidelity gap has narrowed, they feel like they need to jump on a new issue. And nowadays with a lot of poor optimisation on the PC (just as bad as i twas 15 years ago) they know that gaming on a console is likely better 7 or 8 times outta 10.

I'm saying all this as a PC gamer (mainly for FPS) but I gotta be true. Heck, I had some guy telling me he was playing games at 90-120 fps...like, the eye is not going to process that properly and when I and many others I know have upped FPS to that level, it will give you a prety damn bad headache. So its just absurd.

@valgaav_219: Yeah, I gotta say, i don't think FFXIII is neecssarily a bad game but having been such a big fan of teh series and for them to turn around and basically put out graphics demo was bad. The game is gorgeous but you do nothing but move in a straight line for hours. Plus the combat system felt like a step back from XII and it still irks me that SE havent got a modern RPG with a Vagrant Story like battle system implemented. The combat has been a slow step backwards imo.

For the first time veer, I ended up liking Lara in the reboot and as much as TW3 is a game I don't quite gel with, Geralt is a cool character. they are both examples of well written, totally absurd people that kinda seem normal.

I found Mad Max very repetitive too and only played about 3 hours but I might get back to it.

MGS V was a massive misstep in my opinion but the opening 4 or 5 hours are still great so I guess....I'm ok with it.

Tbh, I only buy games I know I will like so I haven't got any major regrets.

Should keep the score as is.

Patches's after release simply aren't good enough. In this day and age, games shouldn't be releasing in such a state. Just because you have the ability to fix it after release, doesn't mean you should release a broken, buggy mess. If you want peoples money, you should offer them a working product to begin with.

Agreed!

what is this obsession with 60fps? Most eyes can barely process that, jeez lol

I see no difference in playing MGS V at 60fps on my ps4 and any number of other games at half that. Stop going off of the internet hype.

Most important thing is, what do you feel most comfortable playing on? FF ia synonymous with the PS, I'd buy it on there if I ever do.
