Just be careful with cheaper lcd tvs contrast ratios. My parents bought a cheaper 32 inch Toshiba 720p lcd and it looks fine in bright outdoor scenes but night/shadow scenes can be almost impossible to make out. As for the resolution, it's not a big deal for this console generation, although you might end up deciding to hook up a pc or blu-ray player in which case you can tell the difference if you're close enough.Tigarian
It's not the contrast. The number of contrast has became more of a marketing trick. The most important think is the color saturation ( Video processor).

SITTING CLOSER = MORE PIXELATED IMAGE.

[QUOTE="spiceonpsn"]P.S. If you put touch-screen or make it a phone ( like other idiots recommend ) will inevitably lead you in less sales and go into bankruptcy...DaAlienMan

Actually, Sony still have their Bravia, CyberShot, VAIO and PS3, so, well, they won't go bankrupt.

yea, Sony's not dependent on only the PSP xP

You're right, i don't understand these ignorant people or kids that keep telling OH SONY WILL GO BANKRUPT WITH THE PS3 AND PSP. They haven't noticed that they sell: TVS, Laptops, Cameras, Radios, MP3s, Cellphones and much more.

Dear Sony plese don't listen to ignorant gamers and don't use any of those gimmicks like motion censors. Just give us great looking screen, great online and much more support from third partys.

[QUOTE="Gregoroth"]I'd probably get the Toshiba. I prefer them over Samsung and they're a Japanese based company ('09 models were assembled in the UK). From what I've read, Toshiba sets generally have one of the lowest input lag values for LCD's, second only to Panasonic. I would have thought 5ft may be slightly too far to benefit from 1080p on a 32" but then, if you ever get dead pixels, you wouldn't see them on a 1080p display because the pixels would be too small.

I'm no genius but you can still sit at 2-3 fts away and still won't notice a big difference. My grandma bought one toshiba and it really looked cheap and the color quality wasn't the best. She ended changing it for a much better one. Sitting closer = more pixelated image Samsung > Toshiba

[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"]Ok thanks for the help but can someone tell me how can i prevent those minor scratches on the glossy frame? I notice a lot of minor ones looking close on light reflection. And i have taken good care of it.GTR12

Put your TV in a bubble, its just dust particles, no matter what you do, it will scratch eventually.

Oh thanks. Were can i get those tv bubble wrappings? LOL just kidding. Many people have said the same to me, no matter what cloth you use the glossy frame will get minor scratches.

Are those Monster Cleaning cleaners safe to use and does they do the job? Is there a way to prevent those minor scratches on the glossy black exteriors?

The Monster Cleaner solution is pretty much what the Geek Squad at BestBuy swears by. I use it on mine and the surrounding frame and I haven't noticed and scratching, I am using the MF cloth that it comes with also.

Edit: It cleans very well and was developed for HDTV screen-panels so yes it is safe to use. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

Doesn't matter what you do, it will scratch. Just wipe it with a microfibre cloth.

GTR12
So everyone will have scratches on their lcds?

This is good advice my LCD came with some Monster screen cleaner and a microfiber cloth (Bestbuy) but I will do as PopMechanics advises when I run out.

Edit: They say to use a new cloth each time to minimize scratching, but keep in mind you can fold the cloth in half twice and get 8 clean sections of cloth. Just another reccomended tip. :P

000000000111
That's what i thought., i should fold the cloth and with one part dust off the screen and with the dust free part clean it. Will it get scratches this way? What about the glossy finish of the exterior? It doesn't seems to be a way to prevent minors scratches on that part.

[QUOTE="taylor888"]

Vizio is kind of like Daynex in that you have never heard of it, but Daynex is garbage. I heard that Vizio makes really good TVs and for less $.

000000000111

They aren't too bad my mom bought one last year. The picture is okay (better than SD by far) but nowhere close to my Bravia. The sound however is far below par. The only problem I have with my Bravia is that without surround sound the volume has to be turned up to 25%, however, with my mom's Vizio the sound has to be up more than half-way and the sound quality is terrible.

TC it's an ok TV for picture but you'll definitely want to get surround sound.

Yep you're right. They are better than sd but not better than bravias, samsungs and lg. If you put a vizio side by side with a bravia or samsung TV you will see it doesn't have great colors. As for the quality of the speakers, that's one of the newest problems, a lot of tvs from well know brands are cheaper than before but they come with very cheap speakers compare to older models. I have a Bravia i bought way back when i got my PS3 and it sound great with the volume set from 18 and up. Some older models came with two 10W peakers and know most of them came with tow 5W speakers.

Good price but that's online price and from amazon. When you go to the stores they cost more. OP i recommend you call the store to check prices before going with the online price in mind when visiting the store.
