Sony's Hacker Hits Home - Read this if you have a PSN account

Like many concerned PSN users, I assumed the worst about Sony's secure information breach. As soon as word hit that account information could be compromised I made an effort to change passwords for accounts that shared emails with my PSN account. Unfortunately, I forgot one.

My iTunes account has been hacked.

All morning I've been going through the rigamarole of cancelling my credit card and phoning support lines because I'm not entirely sure what else COULD be compromised. Looking back, my iTunes account slid under my radar. It used the same email and password combo as my PSN account. An easy target.

I never would have thought this could happen, but it did. I am writing this blog to spread the word...If you haven't done so already, change your passwords and secure all of your accounts that could be compromised.

This is no joke, and it also eliminates all doubt that whoever hacked the PSN data definitely got ahold of sensitive information. Do not take this lightly.

Gamerscore = 123450

I just noticed this and I'm glad I did. I wish I could unlock a 6 point achievement, but I'm not even sure if there are any...Oh well.

That's all...Back to hiding from my profile page again

Connect + Kinetic = Kinect?

This isn't going to be a blog bashing the name choice...I don't care what this thing is called. When Nintendo's Revoultion was re-dubbed the "Wii" I balked. Looking back, who cares? That thing sold like it cured diseases and became a household name almost instantly.

The thing about Kinect is that it doesn't seem to be looking to reinvent the wheel or anything, it does something similar, but different. I'll admit I am excited and curious for it (and Move, but I feel like Move is just Wii HD) but I'm not really willing to shell out much money for this thing.

If motion controls and 3D TVs are the future, the combination of technologies leads to a lot of neat possibilities. I can only imagine what will come out in the near future...

So, who cares if this thing is called Natal or Kinect or Shirley...Wait until you play it before writing it off.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games ever. EVER.

I beat RDR over the weekend and after close to 35 hours of playing it, there is still so much left I could do in the game. I finished with only 89.1% complete, and the last ~11% is pretty vast. I'd like to try to get it done, but for now I need to move on to a different game (Alan Wake) and play RDR in bursts.

I still have a bunch of achievements left, mostly online ones...I don't think I'll ever get most of those since the online is funky right now, but I'd like to.

If you were a fan of GTA4, you will either love or hate this game. I liked GTA, but felt it was too "busy" and just grew kind of annoyed with it. RDR to me felt more like Bully than GTA, and that's a good thing. However, riding around on horseback isn't for everyone. You'll know in 30 minutes or so if you're going to want to put in for the long haul on this game. If you don't like it, it's not going to "get better" or anything, the game starts you off with a great sense of the rest of the game.

As for the ending, I won't go into it here, but I loved it. Lots of folks did not, I thought it was a brilliant move.

My XBL list is full, but if you're one of the lucky 100 and have the game, let me know and we can play online sometime to try to get some of those peskier achievements...

Big change in real life

Well, it's not so much a change as it is extra work for me to do.

Some of you may know that a bulk of my GS time is spent from work...I've had very little to do the past few months, and can squeeze in a lot of time here as a result. That all changed about a week and a half ago. I will be training and then taking over one of our biggest third party applications since the guy currently in charge is taking a leave of absence and then retiring in the near future (next few years, maybe).

While this places me in a terrific spot in my company, it leaves my interactions here very limited. I will still be able to come on and check PMs and such if you want to get in touch with me, but I will not have the luxury of spending a full day mucking it up with the fine folks of OT, unfortunately.

You will likely still see me on, I am not leaving the site or anything like that, I am just setting the expectation that I will be limited here.

Take care, folks
