So I just built my first Computer. It works great! I ordered all my parts from tigerdirect.com for real cheap compared to what I'd be paying for an Alienware with these guts. In the end, it cost me about 1700 bucks. Don't tell me it's a bad deal, cause i know I could have got the same for more than twice as much.
AMD FX-60 2.8ghz dual core
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768Mb
2Gb 800Mhz RAM
ASUS ALife A8N32-SLI DELUXE gaming Motherboard
Ultra 500 watt PS
Sceptre 20.1" XHD 1680x1050 LCD Flat Panel Monitor
So I'm pretty much set for a while.
I'm not getting Vista till they straighten things out with patches and security and such.
Also there aren't any Dx10 games on shelves yet so i'm not bothering.
OLD RIG:
AMD Athlon 64 3.0ghz
Nvidia BFG 7800 AGP 256Mb
1Gb 400Mhz RAM
400 watt PS
17" 1024x768 CRT Monitor
Some retarded AGP motherboard that HP threw in there.
As you can see, my old rig was decent but it was AGP....time to move on.
My graphics card was good...but also AGP, limiting the bandwidth to 8x instead of beautiful PCI-E 16x
