Happy 15th anniversary Playstation!

Hello all, I just wanted to take a second now to congratulate the Playstation for it's 15th Anniversary mark, I'm glad to celebrate a console that was extremly playable at the time, and continues to be the same way today. A truly remarkable system that changed video games forever.

Now that I've finally got my hands on my own PS3(60 gig model), it feels great to have Playstation in my life again, with a damaged PS2, and not being in the mood to play PS games up until just within the past few weeks, I was losing grip with my long time friend.

So again, congratuations on the success of the Playstation, and hats off to you Sony in your future endeavors.

Another new Playstation 3 owner.

What's goin' on everyone, so it's a been a few weeks since I've made a new blog post and it's definitely time.

So I am a new adopter of a 60 gig model, and unfortunately, I don't know all that much about Playstation 3's yet. I've borrowed a slim before, so I understand navigation, and the rather subpar online interface compared to that Xbox Live, however I don't have anything to play yet!

Does anyone care to educate me on any neat tricks with the PS3? Or would like to point me in the direction of some free content?

I'm also interesting in trying the Gamesharing if I'm using the right term there.

Let me know if anyone has anything to contribute, thank you guys.

New Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Xbox and PC games.

If you read my last post from about 2 days ago, then you'll know that I was excited about the Pawn Shop just across the road from my house getting some new N64 games that were dirt cheap. Well that was Thursday, it's Saturday now, and some of those good deals went out from under my nose.

However, I did manage to get another copy of F-Zero X for the 64, for 2 bucks, my other copy has a damaged label sticker, as well as Quest 64 for 2 bucks as well. After some contemplation, I also picked up 3 Xbox games, Halo: Combat Evolved(I've already beaten Halo, and own a copy of Halo PC, but I really wanted the Xbox version) which was $3, as well as Grabbed by the Ghoulies another $3 and Dead to Rights for $3. All three came complete with cases and manuals, and they all have reasonable wear and tear, but that's alright, that's why there are professional buffer systems.

I was really considering getting Condemned 2:Bloodshot for the Xbox 360, which they had for $5, but I thought maybe I should try and by that one retail so they could actually get my money. However, I end up spending that $5.

Upon leaving I was eyeing up the speaker section, and asked if they had a subwoofer for a surround sound setup that uses a Pre-Sub Out. They didn't have one on their shelves, but offered to look in the back for me to see if they had one that wasn't entered into the system yet. Thankfully I was in luck, the first one they brought out had all these weird connections, proprietary stuff, and I wouldn't ahve been able to use that, but the second one they brought out, a decent quality Sony model with a Line and and Line out RCA, as well as L+R speaker cable out connectors. He told me $5 cash, no receipt, buy it no returns.

For $5 bucks it really wasn't a risk, took it home and ba-da-boom, working subwoofer.

Later, after going out to a thrift store looking for some goodies, I spent about 9 dollars on 3 pairs of cargo shorts, a pair of swim trunks, and a T-shirt, I decided I'd head home and stop at the Half-Price Bookstore, in between my house and my grilfriend's house which is where I was leaving from.

At the Half-Price Books I got 5 more games. First, three near mint condition Dreamcast games, all priced at $1; Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge, F-1 World Grand Prix, and a second copy of Slave Zero, except this one was complete, my other copy only had the game and manual. Additionally I got 2 PC games, Baldur's Gate II:Throne of Baal, which is the expansion to Baldur's Gate II:Shadows of Amn for $2 as well as Red Faction II, which was also 2 bucks.

Needless to say, I spent about $25 bucks today (excluding my clothing purchase) and got 10 games and a rather nice Sony subwoofer.

I think I made off pretty good.

New N64 Buys!

Man, I told myself I wasn't going to buy games for quite sometime, because I simply have so many, and haven't played through even the littlest fraction of them.

However, on my way back from the grocery store today, I had to stop at the Pawn Shop. Man I'm glad I did.

Someone had come through and sold them a nice lot of N64 games, most of which in very good condition, most importantly all of them were dirt cheap.

I saw Conker's Bad Fur Day for 3 bucks, Rogue Squadron 3 bucks, Pokemon Snap for 4, Extreme G 2 for 3, Excitebike 64 for 3, need I go on?

So I was explaining to the lady helping me that I wanted to see all the games, and I kept filtering throught the stacks... Madden*set aside* Football *set aside* Basketball *set aside* Crusin' USA *admire, but set aside* until I found a bunch of real good'ns.

Banjo Kazooie, a bit ripped, but 3 bucks, again Conker's Bad Fur day, Snowboard Kids 2 for 3 dollars, an absolute steal. Star Soldier, which I knew nothing about, but was 3 bucks, now that I'm home and playin' it, it's a pretty average shmup on the 64, which is nice, because the N64 has nearly none of them, and the graphics are pretty nice. Diddy Kong Racing for 4 bucks, and some other games.

Surprisingly, there was no Goldeneye or Perfect Dark.

So I explained to the lady that I had about 8 bucks to spend, and she bumped down any games that I bought, an entire dollar. so I paid $7.58 for 3 games. Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth($2), Diddy Kong Racing($3), and Snowboard Kids 2($2). Which Snowboard Kids 2 alone goes for no less than say 20 bucks online.

I can not wait until I get my paycheck tomorrow, and deposit it. I have got to get some more of those dirt cheap games over the weekend. As well as a second Banjo Kazooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day ;)

My consoles, video and audio connections.

So recently I've been hardcore about video and audio, especially since I have been dabbling more into Optical audio quality, and 5.1 surround. I thought I'd go ahead and make a new video laying out my specific consoles, and just how they're all being hooked up.

Atari 2600 - RF, sometimes RF to Composite and Y-Splitter RCA through a VCR.

Nintendo Entertainment System - Composite with Y-Splitter RCA

Sega Genesis Model 1 - Composite out, with Stereo out from the from headphone jack.

Super Nintendo - S-Video with Stereo RCA

Sega Saturn - S-video with Stereo RCA

Sony Playstation - S-Video with Stereo RCA (Using Dolby Pro Logic when available)

Nintendo 64 - S-Video with Stereo RCA (Using Dolby Pro Logic when available)

Sega Dreamcast - S-Video with Stereo RCA for SDTVs, VGA for Monitors and HDTVs using Stereo RCA or Headphone out.

Sony Playstation 2 - Component with Optical for Stereo/Pro Logic/ProII audio out. I am also doing this for most of my Playstation games.

Nintendo Gamecube - S-Video with Stereo/Pro Logic/PLII RCA

Microsoft Xbox - Component with Optical audio in 5.1 Dolby Digital.

Microsoft Xbox 360 - Component or VGA out with 5.1 Dolby Digital, or RCA Stereo/Headphones.

Already broke 8K gamerscore.

Hey there all, Sprinter6/Indead once again, just letting everyone know that I just hit 8000 gamerscore last night on Xbox live. After borrowing a few games from a friend of mine, Left 4 Dead 2, and Borderlands, I was able to achieve quite a few more gamerscore, 550 from Borderlands alone! Plus I also got quite a few games recently, I got Pocketbike Racer on the 24th, as well as the Sega Superstars Tennis/Xbox live Arcade compilation disc pack for 5 dollars so those arcade games also helped give me a few more points. As well as going back and getting a few more points on some other games, Left 4 Dead for example, it didn't take me long to top off the 8K mark after my exact 7k back on the 11th of December.

Anyway, I hope you guys all had a splending Christmas/whichever holiday you celebrate if any, and I hope that your New Year celebration is just as enjoyable.

I'm planning to stay here on Gamespot so I'll be here to experience 2010 right along side y'all.

Have a splendid Holiday Break and I will see you guys next post.

Do you play your games from the 360 Hard Drive?

Okay, how's it goin' y'all, this is a question that has been on my mind a whole lot recently, since I got back into my Xbox 360.

I was curious to know how many of you guys instlal games to your hard drives?

Personally, if I play to play a game for more than maybe.. 30 minutes to an hour, I install the game. After having only one RROD so far with my 360, I really don't want to risk it again, plus the 360 is just so much quiet without the disc spinning.

So what do you guys do?

I have an Elite, so I have plenty of hard drive space, and actually I have probably 8-10 games installed on it right now.

So, questions to answer in the comments:

What kind of Xbox 360 do you have?

Do you install games from the hard drive?

If so, why?

If you do, how many do you usually have, or which ones in particular?

Thanks a lot guys, y'all take care, and I'll see ya' back here pretty soon I suspect.

Okay seriously... 7K Gamerscore?

So, after posting not too long ago about 6K GamerScore, I'm now up to 7K. Which I mean, it make sense.

This week I ended up grabbing a few new 360 games. Call of Duty 2, Dead Rising, Big Bumpin', as well as Dark Sector.

A friend of mine also brought over Modern Warfare 2, so I got about 160G from that before he had to leave and take it back with him, but I also a friend and I beat the co-operative campaign on Left 4 Dead.

I find it interesting that I'm still playing a lot of new games, when I've been buying a crap ton of retro games, I actually ended up getting some insane deals today on older games so I'm really glad things have been working out in my favor.

As always I'll catch back with you guys if something pops up.

Pieces y'all.

Another gamerscore post? 6k now?(6040G)

So, oddly enough, here is another Gamerscore update, I don't really know why, but between this update, and the last one I sent you, I was mad addicted to my 360! Normally my console that sits around that I tend to only play late at night in my room with a monitor whenever I'm not in the mood to play my Dreamcast instead, but I simply could not put the damn controller down!

So I guess the result of that, is yet another slow 1000G crawl from 5k to 6k.

Hopefully I'll be able to snag some more easy gamerscore here and there.

Ended up snagging a copy of Sneak King for 2 dollars, so that has been a lot of fun, and I also found out that 1 Vs. 100 has achievements, and it's really fun, I'll probably be paricipating in those more often!

Thanks for readin' all, have a good'n.

5K Gamerscore..yay?

So, my Xbox live account "Indead" just hit 5000 Gamerscore today, don't know why I'm posting this.

I definitely would not label myself a Gamescore whore by any means, seeing as it took me roughly two years to "achieve" 5K.

Are any of you big Gamerscore freaks?

If not...what do you think about them? I think Gamerscore can be fun, but I tend to go for the absurd ones, where you have to do countless monotonous tasks, and I don't why know...
