The Suspence Is Killing Me!

Is it just me or do games just get 'Delayed' for the sake of it these days? Like being cool and turning up to a party fashionably late? I mean in many cases games are delayed for good reason, that is they need more time to fine tune or make last minute changes. But when I read Red Dead Redemption is being delayed because....

Speaking to analysts after the report, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said that the delay was because May provided a better release window and would allow Take-Two more time to market the game. He also said that economic conditions "are on the upswing" and that "coming out of an economic downturn is a good time to release a Western."

What?!?!?! Thats not a reason! I find it really disappointing that a game that in my opinion already has more that enough hype is being delayed to better market the game? There is no better marketing campaign than that of word of mouth. I mean when I get a game, play it and find its awesome naturally I am going to tell people about it and recommend it! As for coming out of an economic downturn well I have my £40 ready and waiting! As I am sure many other gamers are the same. These days games are never released when they say they are and are always delayed, thankfully in this case its only three weeks not three years!

This for me is going to be possibly one of the greatest games of all time. I have already been disappointed this year with the likes of Mass Effect 2 which in my opinion was just more of the same from the first game, you spend 80% of your play-through talking to your crew and strolling around your ship! BORING! We still have Splinter cell to keep us occupied until Red Dead's release but still, just utterly gutted. : ( Shame on you Take-Two
