Wondering if anybody has this problem:

I just turned on my 360 and it displayed 3 red lights as RROD, try to restart but no success. About half an hour later I turn it on again and it works just fine, my concern is it works for now but will I be most likely to see it soon again? (of course I don't want it happen lol but I'm just curious to see the possibility).

Does an after market cooler help anything?

[QUOTE="sstravisd"]Nobody rate mine on page 6? :(f-a-d-3

Your first rig is 9/10

Second is 7.5/10

Sigh...maybe you're just too harsh on my rig. Thought I deserve better. jk :lol:

If I were you then I would stay away from Nvidia chipset and grab an Intel chipset mobo. I used to have both and in my experience, Intel chipset is much better as people report Nvidia chipset getting worse later on. Btw, you don't even need DDR3 at this time, DDR2 is way enough for now. For the video card, no comment there since it's great choice but unless you tell me you're gonna go Quad SLI, why wasting money on a mobo supports Tri-SLI?

For the CPU, I don't know if you're gonna OC it but if you do then the Q6600 is a better choice and cheaper. If I remember correctly then the Q9300 only has a x7.5 multi. vs x9 on the Q6600. So if you aim for 3.6, you need a whopping 480FSB and if you think you can push that on your mobo then I have no comment on that. But if you don't OC that much then it's still a fine choice. You might wanna consider the Q9450 as well as it has 12MB L2 cache vs 6 on the Q9300 (Q6600 has 8MB L2 cache).

It would be impossible to tell if you don't tell me what resolution you game at. But just don't expect you can play Crysis max out at very high on 1920x1200 since even if my HD4870 CF, I only get 30 fps average so you can tell from there. I would say it's playable at high at 1680x1050.

It sounds like your video card having problem, not the motherboard as I see some people have issue with the HD4870. Plus, you're saying you can use your X1900XTX and it works just fine. Anyway, when you boot up your computer, did you notice 3 of 4 red LED on your HD4870 flashing? If not then either it doesn't get enough juice or it could be a faulty one. If that's the case then try to RMA it would be your best bet solution.

JSDempsey: Yeh I know but since the Q6600 is already in my 1st rig in the first place and I just recently upgraded my 2nd rig, I just don't want to swap the CPU since it's too much hassle. I have my Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz so it'll be good for gaming and multi tasks. :D

@peter: Thanks man, I appreciate that but even if I use zip ties, it's not gonna help that much. The Armor used to be good back then as I've been using it for 2 years but with all the new cases like Cosmos and Lian Li with much better cooling option and more spaces for cable management, it's kinda obsolete now. I guess I won't get a new case anytime soon until my next upgrade. :)

Petermannc31

Sry OCD... please tackle the spider web on the wall lol, its actually not that bad but I just hate cables. Its so bad I have a paint bucket of zip ties and other cable management stuff lol. Also do I see 2 G15 keyboards or am I dreaming?

No you're not dreaming, have 2 G15 and 2 G7, just wanna be pair so one doesn't envy another. :lol:
