If anyone's wondering how they managed to make an Aquaman movie good well it's really not a mystery. If anything being connected to the DCEU is the main reason to have been cautious about it. The character has plenty of great comics out there and at times his series are the most consistently good. They also tend to stand on there own which is nice. If you'd like to check them out the most prominent ones are the Peter David series from 90's and the New 52 reboot by Geoff Johns. The current run that started with Rebirth by Dan Abnett is fantastic too and it just ended. You can probably start with any Aquaman series and one of the nice things about not being the biggest character is there's not an overwhelming amount of stuff out there to choose from.
@ninjanemesis: Do you realize how easy it is to make pretty much any comic book character created for children 80 years ago sound lame? Turns out they evolve many times over in that time and Aquaman is no different than Batman in that regard. The main reason he's is picked on so much more mostly just comes down to his portrayal in Super friends and the skits from shows like Robot Chicken and Family Guy that would follow. Thing is that show was meant to be over the top and silly so it's not exactly the best example for how to represent any of the characters in it.
@gustavob: As much as I never cared about this game and prefer their usual format there's no way they should do that. The consequences for releasing 76 like this will be following Bethesda and their future games as is. Abandoning it when No Man's Sky of all things has received so much support and fundamentally changed for the better years after release will only make it look worse.
I would've been surprised if he wasn't there especially after the E3 2018 trailer. Now I'm mostly just hoping for Kraven and Mysterio. They have to have more villains like Shocker in the bank robbery Outside of their Sinister Six so I'm sure most people will be happy with it's roster of characters.
I want it to happen sooner rather than later as much as any other fan of the series but there's just no way Elder Scrolls 6 will be at E3 this year or any other for a long time. Bethesda has made it clear the game is far off and they're releasing two major games (and I think they specified new IPs too) before it. Even if the first of those games is this year we're probably at least six years away if they keep to their typical release schedule. That is unless they expand the main studio or start a new one to get it all out faster but I think that's unlikely based how they like to work.
For me that's really disappointing considering I can't get into ESO and I don't care about the card game. By the time the next mainline Elder Scrolls game comes out I'll probably have waited around 15 years for any kind of game in the series. Back in 2011 Bethesda had this competition where if a kid born on the release of Skyrim and named them Dovahkiin they'd get free games from the publisher for life? I honestly don't remember if it was clearly a joke and they never expected anyone to do it. Regardless of that some parents went along with it and that kid will probably be nearly finished with high school and have a drivers license by the time the next game comes out.
I'm glad it's good but I still wish DC would stop emphasizing Batman so much more than anything else. Yeah he's their biggest character and people know his stories and side characters more than anyone else but part of that's their own fault. If they really tried to put other leading characters in their own games or animated series it could work they just have to take that first step.
Maybe if they made a deal with Netflix or something instead they'd get more exposure too. Flash, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan they have tons of big characters who'd work fine on their own without any sign of Batman. If the animated movie branch of DC got to a certain point I think they could even safely release ones based on lesser known characters too. New Gods, Legion Of Superheroes, Justice Society, Swamp Thing, Etrigan, Spectre, Adam Strange there's tons of fantastic stuff that could be done with them if given the chance. Hell maybe they could even get into the Vertigo side with Sandman, Doom Patrol, and Rac Shade.
