I remember thinking that GTA3 was an unbelievable game with good graphics for the time, but compared to GTA 4 it cannot hold a candle to it. Why then do I prefer 3 then...better story, more fun, and more immersive, and today I would much rather replay 3 than 4, which I have with my recent download from the PS store.
@Snake_Eater Understood, and I guess from now on if a game has not been reviewed by its release date, stay away as it will only get mediocre scores...lesson learned, but still sad.
Why are these games not reviewed earlier? I would expect gamespot to get an advance copy so when it releases, a review can be in place. I have checked here since the release date and finally here it is. It is an accurate review as taking Rios and Salem out of the game has ruined the franchise, but if I had read this the day of release, chances are I would not have bought it on day 1.
@1blackone Exactly what I was thinking when I read this. GTA:SA and RDR had lots of open spaces with nothing in them...what was the point as they rarely if ever had anything to do with the story, missions, etc.
So Jaffe and this Pachter say this is probably the last console...what will come next? Even if these consoles last for an 8-10 year lifecycle, what is next? I know technology flies in this day and age but something will still have to keep you entertained in your living rooms in 2021.
@ekalbtwin Very well put, as you would think 5 million copies sold would be considered a success. I do prefer this version however, as everything and the kitchen sink still has me playing this frequently, unlike 5.
