300 Quid Paper weight

Yup my 360 has died on me. I got call of duty 3 started playing and then it just freezes, i thought it was the game so i changed it for a new copy but same thing happens, it freezes. Tried a few of my other games but it still freezes so now i have a 300 quid paper weight sitting on my desk.

I have to send it off for repairs which takes up to 3 to 4 weeks! :(:(:(:(:(:(

The Console War

In my opinion the next generation is coming too soon in terms of business sense. Especially with Sony... have they completely lost the plot! There now expected to lose $1.71billion because of the PS3! Thats just a stupid amount of money to lose just for a console.

Microsoft are still losing money on there's but only a fraction of what Song is losing and they have good reasons to be losing that money and it is a better investment for them compared to Sony's.

Now guess who's making a profit? Nintendo... the only new console that isn't a next gen console.

So heres why i think the next gen is coming to soon. Basically the vast majority of customers just are not ready for it. The PS3 and 360 have gone for next gen graphics but for most people to take advantage of that they would need a decent full HDTV which will set them back a fair few penny. If you was going to buy a 360 and a HDTV it will set you back between £600-800 at the cheapest and if you was going to buy a PS3 and HDTV you may as well sell your house and move into a 1 bedroom bungalow to fund it.

But HDTV are now becoming cheaper so next gen graphics maybe are a good investment but there not a must have at the moment.

Another **** investment would be HD-DVD and Blu-ray. Microsoft did a good thing not giving the 360 a built it next gen dvd drive but Sony has fail that in a big way. They have a built in blu-ray drive which is one of there big costs and the main reason why the PS3 cost so much. The world isn't ready for HD-DVDs and Blu-ray... normal dvds are still a really really good quality and it will be years before next gen dvd's become popular.

So PS3 has invested in all the wrong things and they are going to lose this round of console wars.

Microsoft are winning so far and thats there good business reason for making a lose on each console sold because the more people that own a 360 the better and its not a HUGE loss like Sony. Sony are stupid in losing such a big loss on there console because even with such a big loss the PS3 is still costing hundreds more then any other console and the average gamer will not be will to pay that much. Thas Microsoft will come 2nd in the race.

The winner? Nintendo. They have a system which isn't too costly so the average gamer will be able to afford it and there development cost for the games are cheaper so there will be more games made for the Wii. With there console being a fun to play current gen system everyone is already ready for it... you dont need to go out and buy a HDTV and you dont have to pay stupid prices for games because they dont cost as much to make.

So heres how i think it will turn out. Sony will go from the top straight to the bottom. Microsoft will win the next-gen console race and do really well with the 360. Nintendo will do really well and sell the most consoles giving them a bigger customer base. So 3 to 5 years down the road when the talk about newer consoles starts nintendo will have a MASSIVE fan base and they will develop a next gen system and they will still make a profit because everything will be cheaper by then such as blu-ray or hddvd and hdtv's will be the norm and cost at lot less. Sony will probly gain alot of ground in a few years when its cheaper to make the console but then theyl probly just blow it all on developing the PS4 which no doubt will be able to do something amazin like power a nuclear spaceship...

So yeah i think nintendo wins this round.
