Well I think they should keep the character changing system and the old school turn based battles and action comands. Like you can swap out mario, luigi, yoshi, etc. But they have different attributes like Mario is all around, Luigi's jump in the turn based battles is super powerful but his hammers weak etc. Different badges and badge powers Along with collecting hammers and shoes you should be able to buy new hammers or buy add ons to customize the look and power of your hammer in battle and on the field. Same with shoes. You should also be able to collect and buy clothes, like hats and overalls and gloves, that change the characters appearance and abilities. Like a wing cap that can be used to fly slightly over spikes and move fast or different colored overalls that act as armor. etc. Also they need new hammer designs and that when you get new boots the shoes mario is wearing should actually change color. And if they do have a partner system they should use new creatures in stead of always doing the goombas koopas bobombs and so on.
