My advice is to completely avoid the 360. Falcon chip doesn't account for hardware failure. The dvd drive accounts for the hardware failure. Since the dvd drive remains the same, so does the RROD problems. And the Elite has everything the Premium has under the hood, matter of fact, without the black box and HDMI, it's exactly the same. Check out youtube.com for all the failures of both the elites and premium. Falcon chip and all.

Having three RROD and 1 two ring over heat job, I would say your Xbox is dying. Happy paying for the cyclic repairs when they send you back a refurbished Xbox, not your own. I ditched mine. And I'm not the only one. My friends have suffered through RROD's, overheating, defective USB ports. Not one of my friends have escaped problems. I went through withdrawal but it withdrawal is better than dealing with Microsoft's customer support, "I'm sorry" is the beginning and ending of every one their sentences. I had to tell them to stop telling me they were sorry because clearly after the third time, we're they really sorry?

It sucked on the Xbox 360. They just made it easier for PS3. So easier sucking, I guess, if that's your kind of thing. Then go ahead and buy it.
