Burnout: Next Gen!

After seeing so many screenshots prior to E3 of Burnout Paradise I must admit I was a bit worried it wouldn't be going in the right direction.

Now though, after seeing new video of the actual crashes and gameplay I gotta say I am VERY impressed with what they are doing with the series.Criterion definitely has the crash physics and modeling perfected and it looks absolutely amazing!

If I don't havea PS3 by the time this game is released it will definitely be more than enough reason to purchase one!

Criterion Makes the Right Move

Much to my surprise, today EA and Criterion announced that the next installment in the Burnout series really is coming out on the PS2 like was previously unofficially mentioned.

I definitely think this is a great decision on their part because like they said more people own a current gen system than any of the next gens.

I'm excited to see what they do with this one and hopefully go back to more of the arcade elements of the 3rd game.

Disappointment Sets In...

So, at last, at around 63 hours, I complete FFXII.

Overall, I have to say my experience with the game was quite good, and amazing at times, but after finishing I have to say I feel let down and seem like it was all anti-climatic and I was expecting more.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I enjoyed it but I feel like the storyline was not so great.  I also thought some of the levels were a little blah for Square's standards it has set in the past.

With all that said... Square, please don't even try to remake FFVII...

Final Fantasy XII

wow, i can't believe it is really out!  and I somehow ended up being the first one to pick it up at Gamestop at the midnight launch :D

so after playing it about 20 hours I must say I am enjoying it!  after skipping the 11th game I was ready for a new FF game and looking back on it, I have to say that FF8 was that last one I really enjoyed as much as this (FF9 and 10 were pretty good but not favorites).

I've come across a few tricky battles and find that it is a little tough to come across gil so you can buy new equipment but other than that it's been great!

Now if only I wasn't sitting at work right now I could get back into playing it ;)

Road Rage!

I'm typically not this addicted to a racing game and especially to a particular mode but damn! Road Rage mode in Burnout 3 is so freakin fun! :D I highly recommend this game to anyone, even if you typically hate racing games... it is just so fun to ram and smash your opponents off the course and I love how they fight back at you!

All I need now is for Criterion to release a Burnout 3.5 with new tracks and cars and I'd be set :D ...or just wait for Burnout 4... *sigh*

I'm also excited to check out the 3rd installment in the Ratchet & Clank series this weekend  ...greatest 3D platformer to date!

Burnout 3 :D

wow! i've never had this much with a racing game, or any game for that matter, than I am with Burnout 3... and it is only the demo! ;)

It definitely has some of the most amazing PS2 graphics I have seen yet with wicked particle effects and a subtle glow effect on things like the fender when the sun hits it right. I was a little disappointed to hear that the final version of the game does not feature a replay of each race but I guess that just gives the player that much more of a reason to play it all over again ;)

Definitely a must buy when it releases on Sept. 8 :D
