im running crysis warhead on "gamer" (high) settings dx10, 1600x1050, and im only getting around 30fps even downless than 20 fps on some maps.

is this normal?

im running a q8200 @ stock speed 2.33 (bad cooler replace soon)

Saphire 4870 512mb

and 3gb 677mhz

some of the levels are unplayable due to lag and stuttering. srry i dont know the name of the levels.

running latest 8.12 catalyst.

i was thinking either:

1. The ram and cpu were bottlenecking the card

2. Getting a bit hot in the case?

3. mabe Crysis:WH Really does hat ATI that much

thx in advance.

1) 4870 beats 4850 especially at higher res.

2) e7*** sux get either e8400 or e8500 huge difference especially in crysis.

3) also consider the extra cash for the 1GB 4870

everything else is pretty solid! :)

well mate,

cut the ram down to some 2GB 800MHz

then get this 2.8GHz black ed about $55

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103289R

then lower HD to 250GB

and up the GPU to a ZOTAC OC GeForce 9600 GT 512MB about $94 (6000's will not play anything good :P)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500019

Hope this helped! :)

steve.

After checkin some reviews ill take your advise

and go with the 4870 for £180, but would it make a

big difference paying £200 for the 1GB version over the 512MB?
