@mynameisxbob: I see you like to make assumptions. I do not prefer PC, exact opposite. I'm a console only gamer. But if my consoles become PC but on a closed platform, why not just go over to PC? While yes, it is great that future consoles will be backwards compatible (in theory), I think you are giving too much credit for how long your current console will be relevant. The need to upgrade to play the newest games will start to happen a lot sooner. Game devs will always try to push the limits and it wont take long before the current consoles either cant play a game, or get a lesser version of the games (ie Shadow of Mordor PS3<PS4).
@mynameisxbob: PC games all have "minimum specs" for their games. You are eventually forced to upgrade. This will be the same for consoles in the future. Eventually your base Xbox One will no longer play the new games. Basically consoles are becoming obsolete due to their own decisions, and at a time when they are incredibly popular.
@fiesel: Stunt was completely unnecessary. This is what happens when franchises get too old, they try things that are "cool" to them instead of what's best for the movie.
Instead of games being optimized to your console, you will now need to mess with the settings in every game to try to get things right. Also, there will be multiple iterations of each console, that we will be getting even more buggy games. Big reasons why console gamers don't play on PC.
