Can we lower the difficulty on the Xbox version? If so, how?

started NG+ and ive just got Eliie n Tess outside the wall and ive come to upgrade joel with the suplliments and all of them are locked even the ones i bought previously, but yet in my stats menu it states that ive unlocked 12 joel upgrades. do i have to keep playing or should it have been unlocked automatically? also my pistol can only hold 6 bullets again, even though i fully upgraded it first time through.

ive completed it on normal. so i can only do NG+ on normal. if i play through all the chapters from the main menu on hard. will i unlock NG+ hard?

once you have defeated Harley Quinn and have jumped down the hole there is a room to the left. does anyone know how to get in? also when you go down the next set of steps there is a door to be opened under them but the handle is on the other side?
