Red and Blue will always be instant love for me, but I'll always hold Gold and Silver as my two favorites. Diamond and Pearl were also good, but I really, really enjoyed Platinum... mainly because the pre-national pokedex was awesome
Similar thing happened to a friend of mine. His system was playing up heaps, such as the disc drive still spinning when turned off for a few seconds, making strange sounds on start up etc. Anyway, he decided to buy a new one, much to my objections, saying wait and see if it fails. So what happened? A week into it, the disc drive fails and off to Microsoft it went! (He waited too long to take it back, by then the store wouldn't exchange it (don't buy from Game Rush... why he did is beyond me...))
Hmm. Funny. I keep reading that a review is a person opinion. True, but it's also to flesh out and detail every aspect of the game, be it both good or bad, not to simply skip over good aspects and trash the game by highlighting only the faults. If people took time to read gamespots review policy, you'd find that as a whole, GS don't see their reviews as opinions.... how strange. The only reason a review is seen as an 'opinion' is because it comes from human beings, with already conceived background, thoughts and feelings that shape/form their style of approaching/deconstructing something. Maybe the game is shallow, and that's why it got a low score, I'm no expert on RTS' but even I can see this in the game and I've only played the bleeding demo!. In the end it doesn't matter. Get over it...
