Not now. Why? There are new bundles and packages coming out:
Arcade version: http://www.destructoid.com/retail-display-confirms-forthcoming-xbox-360-arcade-bundle-48535.phtml
New pro bundle: http://www.destructoid.com/xbox-360-bundles-incoming-packed-in-with-forza-2-and-marvel-ultimate-alliance-46765.phtml
If you dont like the games in the new pro package, get it anyway and sell the games online or at a gamestop. $350 for a xbox 360 or $350 for a xbox 360 plus 2 games?
So, has anyone seen them in the public now? I was wondering when they would come out. Walmart.com and Gamestop.com both have them on their websites, but I have yet to see them in stores. I really want to buy them in the store so I can look over it and see if 100% they have the HDMI input and maybe the falcon chip.
So anyone got news on when they should hit stores besides "end of october"?
Its unmodified and its the black slim model. I dont know what more I can tell you about it.
The games I've tried: Dark Cloud 2, DMC3:SE, SoC, FFX, Red Faction 2, RE4, Guitar Hero, and Klonoa 2. All of these games work, btw.
I've tried cleaning the disk, cleaning the PS2 with one of those DVD cleaners, I unplugged, and plugged everything back in, and I ran the PS2 in diagnostics mode.
So, whenever I put in any of my games into my slim PS2, they start no problem.
But, whenever I put in Persona 3, it loads, shows the Playstation logo, the logo disappears, and it is just a black screen. Now, this happened to me with my old PS2 and a Red Faction disk I bought from a pawn shop, but my old PS2 still worked for everything else. (BTW, I never did get Red Faction to work).
So, whats up with my PS2? Its not the game, I bought that about a week ago from Gamestop (And I cant return it btw). Its not the PS2, its like 7 months old (got it last Christmas).
What to do, what to do?
In July of 2007, Sony announced a new, lighter PlayStation 2. The new model SCPH-79000 of the PS2 hardware features a drop in weight from 900 to 600 grams. The system's AC adapter has also dropped from 350 to 250 grams. Externally, the design remains unchanged. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2#Slim_case_design
^Thats from wikipedia (I know, not a reliable source), but I've heard thesame news from G4tv.com and Destructoid.
So, with this news, should I wait or go ahead and get one now?
So, I have an old, bigger designed PS2 right now that my friend wants to buy from me for $60. It seems like its gonna die pretty soon cause during most loading times it takes a little bit longer compared to my very first PS2.
Now, I am willing to sell my older PS2 to get a silver slim line one, but I've heard rumors that Sony is releasing a newer, even slimer PS2 this fall. Should I wait it out and get that one or go ahead and get my new PS2 now?
When I had my N64, they never had Super Smash Brothers, Goldeneye, or any other games that everybody loved. Not to mention, they only carried like 3 copies of each game, 5 if it was brand new and not one game was left. Then, they never had Super Smash Brothers to sell even after 6-7 months after it had been out.
When I had my PS2, it was basically the same thing, no good games available or even on the shelf. I basically went in 1 day, rented SW: Battlefront II, took it home, played it, took it back, looked for another game, and just rented SW:Battefront II again.
