The future of Assassin's Creed

I love me some Assassin's Creed. I hope that the franchise continues to deliver fresh stories and interesting gameplay that will keep me and many others hooked into the Animus for years to come. That being said, I am afraid for the future of the franchise. I feel that if it continues the way it is going that gameplay is going to become very stale, and the story will become stagnant.

This is why I hope that the future of the series will go in another direction and leave Desmond behind, at least for a little while. I hope that they continue to make games like Brotherhood and resist the temptation to make Assassin's Creed 3. By making games that are not direct continuations of the main game it opens up possibilities for them to introduce new protagonists and new gameplay features.

What if the next game had a protagonist that was a distant relative of a Samuri assassin? and instead of parkour they did something completely unique for that character, Assassin's Creed: The Samuri Way

The game after that follows someone completely different.

I can see this going on for several games, each new protagonist brings something new and distinct to the series and when Ubisoft is ready to move back to Desmond they make the game completely in the present day and he is the leader of his own creed and each protagonist from the other games are under his comtrol kind of like Ezio could call upon other assassin's in brotherhood.

So when Assassin's Creed 3 comes along your emotionally invested in all the different characters because you've played them all.

Anyways, that's just my two cents.

Is it just me or was Playstation Move priced all wrong?

I was starting to get really hyped for Playstation Move when the man at the Sony press conference showed Sorcery. I was almost ready to buy when Kevin Butler came on stage and gave his very funny speech. Then when Jack Tretton announced $49.99 I was like "Wow, Sony is awesome." I was totally ready to move, pun intended, into the motion gaming arena. Even though I had no interest in motion gaming until the conference. Then I found out the sub-controller wasn't included in that, and it was in fact another $30. My pessismism got the better of me, and I no longer have any interest in the Move.

I would think that they would have had the remote and the nunchuck both together for $50, then a bundle with the camera and the game and the nunchuck for $80. To me that sounds perfectly reasonable. Then why not make it so that every playstation that's sold from now on is bundled with the camera, the remote, the nunchuck, the Dual Shock 3, and if they really wanted to make me to be happy throw in a headset for the current price of $299.

I was a early adopter of the Playstation 3, here is Canada I paid like $600 for my 60 gig backwards compatible beast, that I still love and treat like the child I've never had. Shouldn't consumers these days get a break in gaming? Doesn't Sony want everyone to adopt to Motion Gaming? I thought the idea was to get these controls into everyones hands as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Sony has all this innovation that just has a far to high entry point for me these days. I am interesting in testing out 3d to see how it would work. I want to see their motion gaming for myself and how it feels in my hands.

I would think Sony would want to take a loss on Hardware sales to get those motion controllers in my hands. They will most likely make it back from me in software sales, if they continue to support it with new and interesting games.

Why Fallout 3 is the Worst game, and the biggest letdown in recent memory.

With the latest information for Fallout New Vegas coming out, and many gaming websites and journalists salivating at the prospect of being able to hype the latest iteration, I find myself ever so slowly being drawn in for another go around in the Capital Waste's. This was a place that I used to love to visit on my Playstation 3, I would spend hours trying to do everything, only to talk to my friend and find out that I missed out on, what seemed like to me, everything.

To say that I was excited when I heard that the downloadable content was going to be released for my console of choice would be an understatement to say the least. A hard decision would follow shortly. Should I download each DLC individually, or buy the Game of the Year Edition? After a long debate with the voices in my head, I decided that in order to save hard drive space, I would get the game of the year edition. Big Mistake.

I gave my original copy of Fallout 3 to my brother, as I took my brand spanking new copy of Fallout 3 GOTY for my PS3 home and put that sucker in the drive. I was so happy to be playing the game again, Killing Raiders, taking out Talon company. Blowing the S#@t out of Megaton. Good times...But wait, this isn't right. This isn't how it happened. You see doing all of that would be fun again. It would be great to jump back in and finally play the game evil, but It just didn't happen that way.

This is what my playthrough was like when I first put the game in and started a brand new file... I was emerging through the birth canal and freeze... The game stopped mid push, just as my father was becoming clearer. A quick restart of the game and everything is running smoothly, until it's time to take my G.O.A.T. and freeze. and I'm a little annoyed now, but it's still okay. I can still love this game right?

I eventually get out into the wasteland and am eager to try out the DLC. Walking to the starting place of Point Lookout, half way there... Freeze. I restart, the next time I make it three quarters of the way there, frustration sets in.

I did eventually make it to Point Lookout, and to The Pitt, learning as I went that I had to save constantly. While I was in Mothership Zeta, that was when I snapped. I couldn't take it anymore. I will not play a game that I could easily spend a hundred hours in, if the game lags and freezes every couple of minutes.

I went to message boards, and forums looking to see if a patch was near. I e-mailed Bethesda begging them to patch the game. No response. It's not like I can do anything about it, they refused to respond and I have this really great game that's totally unplayable.

It bothers me a little that Bethesda can't be forced to fix their game. It bothers me a lot more that Fallout 3 is still in such high praise. No response, not a post on their forum telling us that a patch is near. Not even a post telling all of those with issues in the game that we are being heard, and there are a lot of us. No response telling us that they've moved on and there is no hope that this great game will one day be playable again.

So why do I think that Fallout 3 is the worst game? Simply because it's such a great game that is completely unplayable. The gameplay is great, the story is great, but there are just so many problems with the game.

From what I understand New Vegas is being developed by a different company, some of the same people that made the first two games are in there, and that is so appealing to me, but it pains me because I fear that it will be another great game, that will be loved and lauded and almost completely unplayable.

My name is SuperCycle and I tried to play the Game of the Year Edition of Fallout 3 for the Playstation 3 and it was the worst game I've played in a long time, and the biggest letdown in recent memory.
