The future of Assassin's Creed

I love me some Assassin's Creed. I hope that the franchise continues to deliver fresh stories and interesting gameplay that will keep me and many others hooked into the Animus for years to come. That being said, I am afraid for the future of the franchise. I feel that if it continues the way it is going that gameplay is going to become very stale, and the story will become stagnant.

This is why I hope that the future of the series will go in another direction and leave Desmond behind, at least for a little while. I hope that they continue to make games like Brotherhood and resist the temptation to make Assassin's Creed 3. By making games that are not direct continuations of the main game it opens up possibilities for them to introduce new protagonists and new gameplay features.

What if the next game had a protagonist that was a distant relative of a Samuri assassin? and instead of parkour they did something completely unique for that character, Assassin's Creed: The Samuri Way

The game after that follows someone completely different.

I can see this going on for several games, each new protagonist brings something new and distinct to the series and when Ubisoft is ready to move back to Desmond they make the game completely in the present day and he is the leader of his own creed and each protagonist from the other games are under his comtrol kind of like Ezio could call upon other assassin's in brotherhood.

So when Assassin's Creed 3 comes along your emotionally invested in all the different characters because you've played them all.

Anyways, that's just my two cents.

Thanks for reading.
