Californication-a show like no other

I've always been a fan of David Duchovny, which is probably the only reason I first started watching Californication. But after the first episode, I loved the whole show itself. It doesn't follow the same rules as other shows do. For example, you never know what to expect. Hank can seem like a sex crazed bum and the next minute, he's concerned about how some other guy treated a woman badly.

There's no way not to like him. He has that dry sense of humor that can make you laugh because a lot of what he jokes about sarcastically is true. There's so much chemistry between him and Karen as opposed to Karen and Bill. And for all the mistakes he might have made, he's still a really good father who loves his daughter and misses her.

As for the first episode when he meets Mia, how was he supposed to know who she was? She definitely looks over 18, if not even 21 so as much as it seems like what he did was bad, at the time, he didn't know but she did.

I was surprised and glad to see Rachel Miner on the show. I have almost all her movies and her character in the show is one of her best performances yet. I just finished watching episode 9, when

Charlie comes home to his wife and Dani. I had a feeling that was going to happen but it was funny the way they nonchalantly went back upstairs without him.

There's so much more I can say but for right now, I'm just happy they renewed the show for another 12 episodes.

Are there any men who have Jack Bauer's personality?

Most women today say they want to be independent with their own jobs which is great. But does finding a man who makes you feel safe and would do anything to protect you a bad thing? It obviously depends on the person. One minute in Kiefer Sutherland's arms...would that make me safe? I don't know- but Jack Bauer's would. Unfortunately his character isn't real. Firemen and certain policemen give off that vibe of being able to protect....not because it's their job but because it's part of their personality. But when it comes down to it, I want the Kiefer from "The Lost Boys"...the vampire who could make me immortal...steal my soul...and live forever in bloody bliss.
