My biggest pet peeve about buying games

I'm not trying to act like I'm too good for certain things but I am very picky when it comes to buying games.

Now there were a few times I purchased a "new" game at gamestop and the case was already open. One time I have gotten an open case with a sticker closing the side. I never bothered asking why they did that , but as soon as i got outside the store I checked the disk for scratches and jelly stains... the disk seemed new so I didn't make a big deal. Now there was was a time my hubby bought me a game and the case looked like this:

Before he even let me say anything (because he know was I was about to ask) he told me it was a new game and that they didn't have any cases for it.. hmmm so I'm thinking don't all "new" games come in "new" cases because they are "new" and "new" things are never opened. You don't see Walmart selling anything like this, and from the story my hubby told me it sounded like the employee was lazy and had an attitude. If I were in the store I would have said "look dude, you might be having a rough day but I enjoy ripping plastic off my games, and I do enjoy the cover art work. I'm even so picky about letting people borrow our games because I want them back the way that I bought them, and believe me I take really good care of my games.

The same thing almost happened again when my hubby went to buy Little Big Planet 2, but this time my hubby told them he wanted a copy with plastic on it, and it seemed like other customers were getting the same problem as well.

I don't want to buy my games anywhere else, and especially since now they have the powerup card so now my purchases count towards something. Just please Game-stop give me a new game with plastic on it.

Greatest Game villains

I was checking out Gamespots choices for "All time greatest game villain" and I was thinking wow, some of these villains I don't even know, and they really go way back into the 90's games. I don't have a long list of greatest villains as I do greatest heroes. Everyone's definition of a "great" villain may be different, but to me a great villain is someone who left an impression that I will never forget, someone who says they are going to rule the world, destroy me, and make me believe it. Sure every villain says it but most are not believable, I gotta BELIEVE!! You know a villain is bad when they come with their own theme song like one of my favorites and probably everybody elses; Sephiroth

Who did not fall in love with this one-winged angel. To be one of the Elite members of Soldier he had to be the baddest. Just his look says he's bad: the trench coat, long silver/white hair and the masamune plus a theme

song that says his name. I didn't really consider Sephiroth a bad guy, well wanting to wipe out the human race yes that makes him bad but he wanted to do it for a good reason.... right? Since I'm still playing Crisis Core I also got to add his buddies as being one of the baddest game villains; Genesis, and Angeal:

It's cool when a villain makes you want to read a poem called "LOVELESS" by the way he cites it. Not only that but he did seem he could be just as strong as Sephiroth. Now Angeal on the other hand I know he wasn't "bad" bad but I think he was just as powerful as Sephiroth and Genesis.I just wish Angeal didn't have to turn into some freakish looking monster. Why did he have to go out like that?

I don't know if anyone remembers this one but before you see the image.... don't judge a book by its cover. He may seem like he's weak but he packs a punch, and he rides a silver dragon; Kuja (FF IX):

or maybe you will accept him in his trance form:

ok... well it may not have made it better but just Kuja's theme song, and the silver dragon was enough to win me over. He was the one that did most of the work "villaining" ( I know , it's not a word) in the game. I mean the last boss of this game Necron just showed up at the very end of the game... ummmm who are you, because your name wasn't even mentioned throughout this whole game. It was Kuja who made the game.

My last favorite villain , and it should be yours after you saw that fight scene between him and Raiden..... YES VAMP:

I have never seen.... a vampire..... so bad...... so swift..... so..... smooth. He didn't really show enough in Metal Gear Solid 2, but in Metal Gear Solid 4 he has shown all that he was capable of. If you haven't played MGS4: guns of the patriots yet, I promise it will be a game worth playing. Gamespot did mention Revolver Ocelot in the running of one of the greatest villains but he is no comparison to Vamp.

What's up with Activision?

The name Activision has been flying across my computer screen so many times that I have decided to look up why. I have come to find out that people think they supposedly do not support female characters in games. There may be other issues but that seemed to be the biggest issue addressed. I also ran across some other links of them stating that it wasn't true. Sometimes I hear alot of female gamers complain about the lack of a female role in a video game, and others don't care what the character is as long as it is interesting. Well here is what I think:

I remember the first ever female character I ever played when I started playing games:

yes the lovely Kitana and Mileena. I played Kitana more because I thought fighting with a fan was bad-apples. Then I believe the next female character I played with was blade from the streets of rage series:

She was decent of course the guys were alot stronger than her but I still rocked her. I can't remember every girl character I played.... it wasn't many anyways but it soon came to Laura Croft in the Tomb Raider series, the various female characters in fighting games, and any game that let you create a female game character.

When a game comes out that features a female character that doesn't make me eager to buy it because like what most gamers say "it has to be interesting". I do like playing female characters because I feel a female character can be empowering and save the day just as a male character could. Most female characters made are just there for their looks. You know how many times I have read people write perverted things about female game characters. In any role playing or action game a female character always have the low stats or are used for "magic casting" purposes, for instance, yuna from the Final fantasy X and X-2 series, to me they made all three of them look cheesy. I know she was soft and such in the beginning but I think if they wanted to save the world she could be just slightly more hardcore.

Now I think the baddest mama-jama female character role was the little lady from the "wet" game. Just looking at the cover just made me want to look up game trailers, and it was nice that they gave her some bad moves to go with that look they gave her. That was the best game I ever saw that had a good role for a female. I may have overlooked some other female characters, and if so feel free to tell me.

So I guess my conclusion is I'm not gonna boycott for lack of good female characters, but I do feel like they can make female characters more worthy of a lead role. Why can't they just create a role meant for a male character and slap a females face on it.... sounds simple... unless i'm missing something in the equation.

I finally got Heavy Rain and I LOVE IT!!!!

I wanted a new game and I was debating on red dead redemption or heavy rain. I went to watch some of the video trailors and heavy rain stole my heart, so my hubby went and bought it for me and must I say I was taken with the first scene of this game. I actually feel like I AM a part of this game... so freakin awesome. I hope they make many games like this.

Fallout 3

I've been so hooked on Fallout 3 lately. I beat the game already did 99% of the misc quests and I'm working on expansions now. I didn't think it would be that cool. I can't wait for fallout new vegas. The only downside to playing fallout 3 is that my game keeps freezing on me and it really pisses me off. It won't freeze on my hubby but it will freeze on me. what kind of ***** is that?

What I'm playin at this moment

I am still currently playing morrowind, I got hooked. I read on some websites that people like morrowind better than Oblivion, but in my terms it may be because its alot more challenging, but the graphics are graphically challenged (if that made sense). I have gotten so much into the elder scrolls game that I went and bought the elder scrolls novel "The infernal city", am I suck a dork or what. I also like assassin's creed so much that I went and bought that novel also "assassin's creed renassaince" currently I am halfway through that book. I do find that the books can be better than an actual movie or game. It is more in depth, and has more detail. For example in the assassins creed novel when ezio goes to assassinate someone its not a chase-stab-say your last words-then go. In the novel its more like he drew his blade and quickly stabbed him in the arm giving him a gushing wound you know something where it is more realistic and I like that, and I like that it shows how much he loved cristina because it mentioned at times that he thinks of her. but anyways yea that is what I'm doing currently. there are not many game I want to buy at the moment besides heavy rain, little big planet 2 when it comes out, maybe ufc undisputed 2010, or maybe I might just browse and see what games are more popular at the moment, I never know I might end up liking them.

Games Galore

Games Galore! I have so many games I have not finished, and some I haven't even touched yet from xbox 360 to ps3 to psp to nintendo ds and I'm still wanting to buy games.... is that sad? I just had that "Oh I miss playing this game" fever. So I was playing Oblivion for like the 5th time (I beat this game already I just like trying different characters with different jobs) and now I wanted to play morrowind since I haven't played it yet... the graphics (yikes) to much of a step back but I'll still try it anyways. And probably tomorrow I'll be playing another game, lol.

Little Big Planet 2

Omg! Omg! Omg! I'm so excited about little big planet 2!!!!!! I know I'm a little over the top but I thought this was the cutest game ever. And the really cool thing was playing other peoples levels. Some cool levels I got to play on the first one was, a simpson's level, and the coolest "thriller" level. I played others and I don't know how some of them came up with those levels but it was so much fun. The only thing I didn't like about it was playing with 2 players because when the other person isn't caught up with you it messes up the whole thing but anyways yea so excited.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion

One day I was pondering "Hmmmm I wonder how cool it would be to be a thief?" Now I already have two characters on Oblivion a straight warrior and a half warrior/mage. When I play games that have job roles I always seem to pick the warrior because I just like beating the crap out of people, lol. So I wanted to make a turn and be a thief. I seem to be having a little problem building my thief because I'm not sure how to "work" a thief. I know they sneak which I'm good at , and I know illusion spells are they best friend but if you dont have enough magic points how can you use it? I know , I know level up your magic points, but I thought focusing on agility, speed, and personlity was better, arrrgghh I'm so frustrated..... I'm going to eat a cookie.

Final Fantasy XIII

So I beat FFXIII this past Sunday yeeeea! I think its gay that you have to beat the game to unlock the final level of the crystarium. Once you beat the last boss that should be it. I liked to do everything else before I beat the final boss. I also didn't like that there was no airship. I don't want to "warp" anywhere. But overall the game was short but I still love it. I also didn't like the weapon upgrade thing I swear I still think I used too many organic and mechanical materials, but that's ok. I guess Ill finish beating the hunts then.
