Bye bye Beryl.

In weather news, Tropical Storm Beryl became extratropical yesterday shortly after hitting Massachusetts.  There is no other tropical development expected soon.

Also in the weather, the Mid-Mississippi river valley and Ohio River valley got slammed with severe storms yesterday, with most of the reports being widespread damaging winds.  Today, the Mid-Atlantic region should be on the lookout for severe storms producing widespread damaging winds and a few tornadoes.

In sports, the Detroit Tigers beat the Oakland A's 4-1.  They now have a 6 1/2 game lead over Chicago because the White Sox lost to the Texas Rangers 10-3.  The Tigers record stands at 65-31.  Also in sports, the Florida Marlins beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1.  The Marlins are now 43-52.

In the British Open, Sergio Garcia is in 5th place.  I hope he can catch Tiger Woods, but Woods looks pretty darn unstoppable.

That's all. --svrwxfreak25--

Beryl Hits Massachusetts

In weather news today, Tropical Storm Beryl hit Massachusetts early this morning, with a top wind speed of 50 mph.  Beryl is now expected to slowly weaken and hit Nova Scotia and Newfoundland/Labrador.

In other weather news, the Mid Mississippi River Valley and parts of the Ohio River Valley may get raked by severe storms today, with the main threat being damaging winds.

In the world of sports, the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox 2-1 to take a 5 1/2 game lead in the AL Central.  The Tigers are 64-31 and have the best record in baseball.

Also in baseball, the Florida Marlins lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-3.  This drops the Marlins to 42-52.

Finally, in the British Open, my favorite golfer is finally doing well!  After Day 1, Sergio Garcia was in 7th place at the British Open!  Let's hope he can stay up near the top.

That's all.  --svrwxfreak25--

Go Tigers!

Well, I'm off to Pennsylvania today, where it's supposed to storm all of next week.

In sports, the Detroit Tigers rallied from a 6-4 deficit to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-6, in 10 innings.  This means that the Tigers are still in 1st place, but the Chicago White Sox are close behind them.

Well, I'll be back on Saturday from vacation.

Until then, see you all. --svrwxfreak25--

Vacation

Just wanted to drop in to let people know I'm going on vacation from June 25th to June 30th.

That's all --svrwxfreak25--

Guillen and Brown.

I'm so ticked off right now because of sports!

First, the USA couldn't win in the World Cup.  They lost to Ghana 2-1 and what makes this worse is that they would have advanced had they won because Italy beat the Czech Republic 2-0.

Second, the Knicks released head coach Larry Brown.  This team is going to be bad for the next 10 years if they keep making crud decisions like that.  Also, Larry Brown annoys me, because he could live for 25 years off of all his buyouts which he does *not* deserve.

Finally, you know how I said Guillen wouldn't even be suspended?  He didn't get suspended, only fined.

That's all for my rant. --svrwxfreak25--

USA! All the way!

Well, we got clobbered with storms last night, and got about 5 inches of rain!  Now, however, it will probably be nice weather for about then next four days here in Michigan.

In the World Cup, the Ivory Coast (my pick to win it in 2010) beat Serbia and Montenegro 3-2, and Argentina and the Netherlands tied 0-0.  Today, the U.S. needs a win against Ghana and probably Italy beating the Czech Republic to go on.  So, root for Italy and the U.S. please, because I'd really like to see the U.S. move on.  By the way, those games are on at 10 AM.  Also, Brazil plays Japan and Australia plays Croatia today at 3 PM.

In baseball, the Tigers and Marlins both unfortunately lost yesterday.  The Tigers fell 4-3 to the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Marlins couldn't pull it off either, losing 4-0 to the Baltimore Orioles.

Finally, Ozzie Guillen called a sports writer a homosexual slur.  If you don't know who Guillen is, he is the manager of the Chicago White Sox baseball club.  Personally, I think he should be suspended 10 games for this, but with how twisted baseball is, he probably won't even get fined.

That's all.  --svrwxfreak25--

Up to Level 2!

Well, we have already gotten about 3 inches of rain today, and the storms are still supposed to refire!

In World Cup play today, Angola was thisclose to making it in!  However, even though Mexico lost to Portugal 2-1, Angola could only manage a 1-1 tie against Iran, so Mexico and Portugal moved on from Group D.  Later on, even though Group C is already played out, with Argentina and the Netherlands moving on, and Ivory Coast and Serbia & Montenegro out, they will play two matches.  My predictions for those two matches are:

Argentina 3 Netherlands 1

Ivory Coast 3 Serbia & Montenegro 0

GO ARGENTINA AND THE IVORY COAST!

Finally, I moved up to Level 2 (Sweat Hog) today!:D

That's all.  --svrwxfreak25--

Storms! Storms!

Well, it's 8AM, and here in Michigan, we're already getting slammed with storms.  After 12PM, we have a good chance of Tornadoes, Large Hail, and Damaging Wind.  Now, I think that severe storms are cool, but the rest of my family freaks out at the mere mention of Tornadoes.

In other news, the Miami Heat won the NBA championship after beating the Dallas Mavericks 95-92 behind the best player in the NBA's (Dwayne Wade) 36 point effort.  This is good because even though the Pistons couldn't win the NBA championship, at least they can say they lost to the eventual NBA champs.

In baseball, my two favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers and Florida Marlins, are on HUGE winning streaks.  The Tigers beat the Milwaukee Brewers last night, 10-1, to increase their winning streak to six games.  The Marlins beat the Baltimore Orioles, 6-2, to improve their winning streak to NINE games!

 That's all.  --svrwxfreak25--
