Lady in the Water

I'm pretty excited for the new M Night Shyamalan movie Lady in the Water. I enjoy Shyamalan's movies - those long drawn out, creepy scenes...its like a little kubrick with spielberg sprinkled on it. Maybe this one won't have a *twist*, which would be funny as that is what everyone expects from Shyamalan...

MotoQ Gadget Awesomeness

I have a Treo 650 with Sprint, it sucks. After seeing the motorola marketing machine go into an uber-blitz across the net about their new MotoQ, I have to say I am really really tempted...my only big beef is with the windows mobile OS and am wondering if it will sync with my Mac (ala markspace.com) correctly and if bluetooth is going to work (somewhat) correctly with Verizon (Verizon has crippled Bluetooth in the past). Verizon's network has seriously been rock solid for me and have only realized just exactly how great it is since I've been using the Treo with Sprint (for work). Tempted. Tempted.

GameSpot is ruling it.

The GS crew just launched video uploads...in short it is awesome. Not only did they launch video uploads they sprinkled a little "Tagging" throughout the news stories...sweet! Tag clouds and everything! The gs dev crew is so "2.0" now. ;) Those guys are uber code-wizards! Check it

Quick Links for MP3 Artist Pages

We've put in place what I've been calling quick links for MP3.com, what I mean by this is instead of the url: http://mp3.com/spoon/artists/105447/summary.html You can now simply type in: http://mp3.com/spoon And what about the bands with spaces in their name? Let's say, your band is called "The Drogues" - all ya gotta do is basically take out all the spaces... http://mp3.com/thedrogues If you mistype, or misspell, no worries, we'll fall back to a search results page. It's a very small enhancement, but it comes in handy when sending out links to your friends! And yes, if you create a band here you'll get that same link automagically.

CDs no more

I was talking to snide earlier and we were talking about our top albums for 2005 (I'll give you a dollar if you can guess what my #1 is) - we realized that every single one we named was bought thru itunes. Every single album we bought at all in 2005 was through iTunes now that I think about it. Now that iTunes carries more and more stuff I like, it's just like - CDs? We still have those? Plus Jobs and Co. make it so damn easy. I've even bought Lost episodes - just too easy. I have to admit I still do love vinyl though - for little reasons like, it feels like I bought something...and the covers are always cool.

Redesign

Big props to the GS crew for the impressive code wizardry and getting a new design out the door in record time. Get some sleep!
