that was amazing. exactly how i imagine i'd feel about this game if i were to actually play it. despite the humor, some seemingly real and entirely valid criticisms that will probably go ignored by the sea of OMG10/10!!!!!!! out there. i dont watch these zero punctuation reviews often, but that was simply epic (and for the record, he does seem to praise games sometimes, as i remember watching his glowing silent hill 2 review).

I pretty much agree, I love Bayonetta and I understand why people may not like it (it suffers the same cheesy dialogue/VA their other games have). Their games are just filled with stereotypical VA, then the story is just laughable at best with their games.

complaining about the stories in platinum games titles is just laughable. their games are completely about the gameplay, and often feature some of the deepest and most satisfying combat systems in the various genres they have dabbled in. watch any expert play a bayonetta or a vanquish on youtube (seriously, look up molujpn on youtube NOW!) , and you will appreciate a level of mastery and expertise that is simply unmatched in most other games. its not platinum games fault that western audiences tend to not get that their games are meant to be played, replayed, and mastered; instead, over here we would rather complain about graphics, voice acting (really?), and story then actually understand what these games are trying to accomplish.
People like you are sad and pathetic fanboys, you named only one redeeming quality of platinum games while everything else is mediocre or cheesy at best. It would be the equivalent of telling your GF her only good quality is her eyes (yea that relationship won't last long).
so you are allowed to claim that vanquish only does one thing well (gameplay, which is arguable one of if not the most important aspects of a game) and therefore is mediocre, while simultaneously rating devil may cry 4, a game with arguably as cheesey voice acting and story, a 9.5? ahh, inconsistency at its finest...

You cant release 6 hour games and expect them to sell millions.
They also need to improve the artstyIe in their games and polish up the graphics. Most of their games look terrible. Even Rising looked awful at times.
Also, stop making cheesy games like Bayonetta, Vanquish and MGR. Rising was fun but my god the cheese was just way too much. MGS is already cheesy, you dont have to go make it even more ridiculous.

just to clear up, there are VR missions that are on the disc and are included in BOTH versions. the ps3 version is apparently getting some additional exclusive missions as DLC; this content is not locked on the disc and is not content cut from the game according to platinum games twitter. overall, shouldnt be a deal breaker for xbox360 owners, as it looks to be just a few extra VR missions for the ps3 version in addition to the ones already there for both versions.
if you hated his old one liners, these are even worse. very obnoxious with none of the charm. played the demo, hated it. doesnt feel like devil may cry at all aesthetically or in gameplay, which isnt very surprising. combat system is extremely easy and requires none of the precision or technique of the classic devil may crys. game struggles with framerate during cutscenes (played on ps3). dying just reloads you right from the spot you died at. vergil looks even dumber than dante. yea...hope this game flops and the trend of japan outsourcing franchises to western developers ends.
im currently playing through odin sphere (fantastic game btw), and one of the main highlights is definitely the beautiful 2d sprite work. Vanillaware in general are masters of 2d artwork, and they create a visual style that i havent seen replicated anywhere else in this medium.
are you referring to a quick freeze lasting maybe 1 or 2 seconds that happens from time to time? in training mode, this was happening to me so i looked it up and found out that you need to turn off fight requests in order to stop this from happening. pretty sure this only happens on the ps3 version.
i havent bought the full game yet, but the demo for rainbow moon was pretty enjoyable. its supposed to be a pretty long game, and has a nice sense of old school charm to it. you should definitely download the demo on psn and see what you think.
[QUOTE="Lucky_Krystal"]Anyway, in response to the topic, this is beyond pathetic and it isn't helping to convince non fans that this is actually a pretty decent game, and not some "halfway there to porn" video game that caters to immature little horny teenage gamers.Black_Knight_00Which is pretty much what DoA is: a mediocre fighting game which sells well on account of the sexual content.
pretty big words from someone who most likely hasnt played doa5. its easy to attack something like the sexual content of the game and dismiss it as having mediocre gameplay because of it. but the last doa i played was 2, and was feeling nolstalgic and im a huge fighting game fan so decided to pick up 5. its actually a great game, with tight and focused mechanics, great graphics, and dynamic stages. nothing mediocre about it in my educated opinion..
