I Thought You Might Be Worried...

About the security... of your ****.

God-****in'-dammit! I think that's Brad Pitt's best performance ever. I watched Burn After Reading a couple of days ago. That film is too grand. It's not the best work by the Coen brothers, but it was schweet. Haven't cried in laughter in a LONG time.

What does it take to make a perfect film? Well, it takes great actors like Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci; check! It also takes an amazing director like Martin Scorsese; check! (This is a very simplified view, of course) I'm talking about Raging Bull. I finally watched it a few nights ago, and I'm just wondering why I put it off for so long. I think this is my favourite Scorsese film to date. Then again, I've only seen three of his numerous works, but they are supposedly his three best. I think that I enjoyed the film so much not because of De Niro and Pesci's awesome performances, nor Scorsese's masterful direction, but because I could sympathise with LaMotta (De Niro). Every time LaMotta brokedown and cried, cursing his imperfection and inflicting self-harm, it - to some extent - mirrored moments in my life during the past few years. I think this film is one of my all-time favourites.

I watched Dog Day Afternoon last night, so I have now seen kingkilla3's favourite film. *Feels special* I need to watch more of Lumet's work. Honestly, I do. Out of the few performances I've seen of Al Pacino - being Godfather Part I and II, as well as this - I think this is my favourite. Sonny Wortzik is such a unique character, and so well acted by Pacino. It was great to see Pacino with John Cazale once more too. Once more, I think this is one of my all-time favourites.

Other films I've seen in the past few weeks are Mulholland Drive (another of kingkilla3's favourites), WALL-E, and Fight Club.

No, I did not understand Mulholland Drive, which is why I did not delete it from my recorded films list. I'll have to watch it once or twice more, and may even have to cheat at some point.

WALL-E was awesome. End of story.

Fight Club was also awesome. It's not David Fincher's best film, mostly because it relies heavily on the "I've-not-slept-in-a-while-and-am-picturing-half-these-things" card. It felt like a cheap plot twist to me, and it just didn't feel right. Don't get me wrong, I love the film; I just didn't like the reasoning behind a lot of the events in the film.

I rented out Almost Famous during the week. I'll be watching it soon. I also recorded Scent of a Woman; the film Pacino finally won Best Actor for at the Oscars.

That is all. Here, have some Meatloaf.
