Episode 212 Seven Stars

Card of the Day: This is one of the Gem-Knight Fusion monsters! Is their entire strategy around fusing?

Episode 212: An Invitation to Death!

In a castle, Caius is sitting in a dark room. Test tubes are bubbling as he slowly lifts one tube with green fluid towards one with red. He slowly begins to pour the red inside the green

Sir Caius: Easy…easy…

The door opens and he almost drops the two. He grabs them just in time and puts them on a desk, sighing with relief. He turns and glares at Granmarg, who is standing at the edge of the door

Sir Caius: Well, this is a shock. It's not often I get a visit from #3. Tell me, what does someone like you want with #10?

Sir Granmarg: I have a favor to ask of you Caius

Sir Caius: Yeah? I thought I specifically said my experiments were keeping me too busy to help anyone. What do you need from me that you can't just ask from someone like Willas or Raiza?

Sir Granmarg: You are the only one who can assist me in this situation. If you do, I will promise your rank will be moved up

Sir Caius: Hm…tempting. Very tempting. Of course, only a fool would blindly say yes without knowing all the details. What exactly is it that you want me to do?

Sir Granmarg: Simply to help me with the actual construction. I can take of everything else.

He digs his sword into the ground and a large stream of clay spills out along with a coffin. Caius raises an eye as it is raining in N.T City. A grave is disturbed and the name reveals Kate McKnight.

Opening

In the bright day, the cemetery is blocked off by police tape. Cain is standing there with a horrified look at his face. He seems the hollowed out grave and his fists clench

Hanson: We are so sorry. We didn't even see what had happened until this morning. We've looked all over the place, but there's no forensic evidence around to pinpoint a culprit.

Cain: How could this have happened?

Hanson: We have no idea. It was raining very hard the other night though. Few people were out and about and didn't see anything that happened.

Cain: Are you sure there is absolutely nothing left behind to hint at the one who did this?

Hanson: As I said, there just don't appear to be any clues.

Cain grabs him by the scruff of his neck

Cain: What do you mean there's absolutely nothing!? There has to be! It's not like this guy had no fingers or feet!

Hanson: I'm sorry! But there's only so much we can do! We're going to figure this out! Just please be patient!

Cain throws him down and pounds his fist on a tombstone. He leans over his sister's grave and breaks down

Cain: This is all my fault. Ever since I became the leader of this division of Sector Seven, I haven't had time to visit her. Maybe this is some kind of angry god trying to get back at me…

He looks down into the grave and notices something. He brushes away some mud and notices something scrawled in the mud. He takes out a pen and paper and writes them down quickly

Hanson: Is something wrong?

Cain: No. Just a bunch of mud. Keep working. There's something I need to take care of.

He gets on his D- Wheel and races off. Hanson looks confused for a minute and scratches his head. In Sector Seven, everyone bows respectfully as Cain walks by.

Cain: Bring prisoner 347 up to my office

Operative: Sir?

Cain: Do as I say! It is a matter of the highest caliber.!

Operative: A-As you wish!

Cain walks into a white room with only a desk and a chair and sits down. A few moments later, Delg is brought in and tossed into the chair. He sits up and spits

Sir Delg: Interrogate me all you want. No matter what you say or do, you aren't getting anything out of me. Torture won't even make me talk

Cain: I'm not going to torture you. That's not who we are. But I do need you to do something for me.

Sir Delg: Save it. I'm not telling you anything

Cain: I'm not going to ask about Chaos King this time. I want you to read this and tell me what is says.

He puts the letter on the table. Delg slowly picks it up and reads it. His mouth curls and puts the letter back down

Sir Delg: I don't know where you get this letter from. That writing is in ancient old style English.

Cain: And you could read it?

Sir Delg: Of course I could read it. But why should I tell you what it says? For all I know, its some cheap forgery to try and get information out of me

Cain slams the table with his fists and grabs Delg by the scruff of his neck. Delg looks stunned as Cain glares

Cain: Listen up you. Whoever left this message dug up my sister's grave, you got that? This sicko is one of you. Now give me that message…please…

Cain looks down as Delg looks conflicted. He recalls Hunter G meeting Mushiro and then shakes his head

Sir Delg: All this pain…these tears….is this really what the king promised us?

He seems to remember walking into the throne room with Chaos King

Chaos King: This is Delg. He will be joining our circle of Knights as rank #12. With him on our side, we will put an end to the sufferings and sadness of the people who live in this world.

The other Knights begin to clap as Delg looks down. Delg stops remembering and shakes his head slowly

Sir Delg: The message gives a date and a time.

Cain: A date and a time?

Sir Delg: A date and time at Tintagel in three days

Cain: Tintagel? That place is…

Sir Delg: I must warn you though; the message is signed by…

Cain: It doesn't matter who signed it. I'll make them pay no matter who they are.

He turns and walks off. Delg looks down as he is led back to your room

Sir Delg: He really has no idea what he's getting himself into…the #3 is not someone too be taken lightly.

Some time later, Cain is looking through his deck as Yuji is behind him

Yuji: You're leaving?

Cain: It's just for a few days. I need to get this resolved.

Yuji: How do you know they've taken Kate there? It could be some kind of trap. Do you want someone to…?

Cain: I'm going alone. Kate's my sister, so it's my job to get her back. Even if it is a trap…it's the only lead I've got. I trust you with the safety of Sector Seven while I'm gone.

Yuji: Don't worry.

Cain heads outside into a jet. The roof opens up and it immediately opens up. It takes off to the sky as Yuji watches him.

Yuji: I can't shake this bad feeling…something really bad is about to happen…Cain, be careful

Over the land, Cain is flying over the ocean. He taps some keys on a keyboard and a map pops up.

Cain: Tintagel. In Aruthian myths, Tintagel was the birthplace of King Arthur himself. I wonder…what a strange place to be meeting.

He flies over the ground towards the ancient ruins. As he flies, rocks begin to lift off the ground and hurtle towards him. He sees them and quickly flies to the side to avoid them, huge clumps of dirt also lift up and hurl at him. He keeps dodging the earth that is being thrown at him. He looks down at the ruins and sees a man standing there. He growls and lands as soon as he can. He jumps out and runs towards the ruins. Rock pillars break out of the ground as he jumps over, ducks under, and side steps the rock stalagmites. He enters the ruins and sees rocks closing in on the opening. He runs faster and dives through as it closes. Someone laughs and he looks up

Sir Granmarg: Impressive. My rock storm was not enough for you

Cain: I've been trained. I take it you're the one who defiled my sister's grave?

Sir Granmarg: Correct. My name is Sir Granmarg. Among the Knights of the Elemental, my ranking is 3

Cain: 3 huh? That's a pretty high number. But in the Sector Seven Japan Division, I'm #1! Now before I have to show you my power, I'll ask this once. Where's my sister?

Granmarg takes a coffin out from behind him. Cain breathes a sigh of relief. He notices something

Cain: You took the coffin. You even wrapped all the flowers I left there around it like a wreath

Sir Granmarg: Of course. I still have respect for the dead. Rest assured, you can have this back. But, I do have one request. Duel me.

Cain: You asked me to come all this way to duel me? Did your King put you up to this?

Sir Granmarg: The king is not aware. This is done of my own free will. If you want to just go, I won't stop you. But a true warrior never backs down.

Granmarg puts it on the ground and slides it towards him. Cain holds it for a second and pouts it aside

Cain: Fine. But I'm doing this for Kate, not you.

Sir Granmarg: Very well. Let us go

Cain activates his Duel Disk. Granmarg takes his sword out of the sheath on his back and holds it out with his right arm

Both: Duel!

Cain vs Sir Granmarg! [Cain LP = 4000][Sir Granmarg LP = 4000]

Sir Granmarg: I'll take the first turn. I summon Gem- Armadillo [ATK 1700/DEF 500 LV 4]. When this card is summoned to the field in attack mode, I can select a Gem-Knight monster in my deck and add it to my hand. Next I set two cards on the field and end my turn

Cain: Gem-Knight. That must mean his deck revolves around Fusion. I need to end this duel before he can summon out something. My turn. I summon Goblin Attack Force [ATK 2300/DEF 0 LV 4]

Sir Granmarg: I see. Goblin Attack Force has very high attack points for a low level monster. However, his low defense compensates, and he goes to defense mode after every attack. Are you planning an attack and retreat strategy?

Cain: Only a coward does something like that! I release Goblin Attack Force and Special Summon Turret Warrior [ATK 1200/DEF 2000 LV 5]. This card can be summoned by releasing a Warrior type monster. In addition, he gains the attack points of the Warrior type monster I released. He gains an additional 2300 attack points [ATK 3500/DEF 2000 LV 5]. I attack your Gem- Armadillo! Go, Revolving Shot!

Sir Granmarg: Trap card, Change Genes. This lets me pick a monster on the field and change its type. I make my Gem- Armadillo a Pyro type monster. Now I use a second Trap card Pyroxene Fusion. This lets me fuse monsters that are required to summon a Gem- Knight Fusion monster. I combine my Pyro Attribute Gem- Armadillo and my Gem- Knight Crystal

Armadillo and Crystal break apart, the shards merging together and becoming a complete monster

Sir Granmarg: Fusion Summon, Gem- Knight Citrine [ATK 2200/DEF 1950 LV 7]

Cain: It still isn't strong enough to destroy my monster!

Turret blasts apart Citrine. Granmarg holds the flat end of his sword out to block the force of the wind [Sir Granmarg LP = 2700]

Cain: I was hoping to deal more damage to him though. Did he only use that Fusion Summon only to block my attack and reduce the damage?

Sir Granmarg: Nice hit. I suppose now that I gave you a handicap, I don't need to hold back. If I were to go at you with my full strength, this duel would already be over at this point

Cain: Hmph. You seem pretty confident of yourself! I'll wipe that grin off your face! I set a card and end my turn

Sir Granmarg: Here we go. My turn. I summon Gem-Knight Alexandrite [ATK 1800/DEF 1200 LV 4]. I now use this monster's effect. I release him and summon a Normal Gem-Knight monster from my deck. I summon Gem-Knight Garnet [ATK 1900/DEF 0 LV 4]. Now from my hand, the Spell card Gem-Knight Fusion

Cain: He's going to Fusion Summon again?!

Sir Granmarg: I fuse Gem-Knight Garnet and Gem-Knight Tourmaline.

The two break apart and combine, becoming an even bigger creature

Sir Granmarg: Fusion Summon! Gem-Knight Ruby [ATK 2500/DEF 1300 LV 6]

Cain: He summoned another weaker monster? What is this guy trying to accomplish anyway?

Sir Granmarg: In my hand, I use the effect of Gem-Knight Amber. Now I can draw one card. If that card happens to be a Gem-Knight monster, I can Special Summon it. Appear, Gem-Knight Emerald [ATK 1800/DEF 800 LV 4]

Cain: What are you doing?! You just summoned another weak monster to the field!

Sir Granmarg: I'm surprised at you. Surely you know the old expression. One man might be able to crush 1 ant, but a thousand ants can overcome him. And now…I'll overcome you. I release Gem-Knight Emerald. Since I released him to use the effect of Ruby, he gains that monster's attack points until the End Phase of this turn. [ATK 4300/DEF 1300 LV 6]

Cain: So that's why he's summoning all those lower level monsters!

Sir Granmarg: Go Gem-Knight Ruby. Destroy his Turret Warrior. Ruby Razor!

It fires a powerful beam of red energy that tears Turret Warrior to pieces, leaving a hole in its chest. Cain is hit with the beam and flung into the air, hitting the wall behind him as he slides to the ground [Cain LP = 3200].

Cain: What the hell? That hurt!

Sir Granmarg: Stand. A warrior who drops his sword in battle leaves himself open to injury. Keep fighting, Cain McKnight. I want to see the power that a Sector Seven leader can offer. I end my turn

Cain: Hmph. So you guys took out Michael and now you want a Sector Seven leader to show you power. Fine, I'll show you power. I'll carry on Michael's heart inside of my dueling and beat every single one of you Knights! I draw. I summon Acrobat Sniper [ATK 1200/DEF 300 LV 3].

Sir Granmarg: Now who is the one summoning weak monsters? Isn't that a bit hypocritical?

Cain: Isn't it like you said? A thousand ants can take down even a person. I use the effect of Sniper. By halving this monster's attack points, he can attack you directly [ATK 600/DEF 300 LV 3]. This is for Michael and Kate!. Get him, Upside Down Laser

It turns upside down and points its gun at Granmarg. It fires as he lifts his sword to block the laser and is pushed back [Sir Granmarg LP = 2100]

Sir Granmarg: Not bad. You actually dealt some damage to me. But unfortunately for you, your monster is stuck in attack point. All I have to do is attack that weak little monster and you lose

Cain: Doubt it! Trap card, Trench Warfare. Until the Draw Phrase of my next turn, monsters that attack go into defense mode after the battle. My monster's attack points return to normal, but he goes into defense mode. [ATK 1200/DEF 300 LV 3]. That means you can't wound me! Turn end

Sir Granmarg: An attack and retreat card. You impress me. I draw. As I drew Aurora Draw while I have o cards in my hand, I discard this and draw two new cards from my deck. Cain, tell me something. What is the difference between a lion and a gazelle?

Cain: What are you babbling about?

Sir Granmarg: The answer is not something obvious, such as a lion is a cat and a gazelle is a deer. The answer is also not that the lion eats meet and the gazelle eats grass. The lion has something the gazelle does not. Do you know what that thing is Cain? Why is it that the lion hunts down the gazelle and it is not the other way around?

Cain: Enough with your riddles!

Sir Granmarg: It's rather simply actually. The lion has a killer instinct. The gazelle only eats grass and it doesn't need to concern itself with hurting its prey. However, that is its greatest weakness. It is too soft; it can bring itself to hurt a living creature so it eats grass, a nonliving creature instead. The lion is not concerned with that. It needs to eat or else it will die, so it gains the ability to kill its prey without any remorse. In this war, Cain, my side is the lion and yours is the gazelle. You do not want people hurt so you will not unleash the power of the Seven Star Knight deep down inside. But we Knights have our own ambitions, and we are unafraid to make them happen. And so we lions will kill you gazelles. I use the Spell card Premature Burial. I pay 800 life points [Sir Granmarg = 1300] and revive Gem-Knight Emerald [ATK 1800/DEF 800 LV 4]. Next I summon Gem-Knight Sapphire [ATK 0/DEF 2100 LV 4]. At this time, I use the effect of Gem-Knight Emerald. By removing himself and Sapphire from play, I revive a Gem-Knight Fusion monster. Come back, Gem-Knight Citrine [ATK 2200/DEF 1950 LV 7]

Cain: Two monsters eh? Too bad. Trench Warfare means you can only attack with one monster.

Sir Granmarg: I am aware. I release Gem-Knight Citrine. That means Gem-Knight Ruby gains a power boost [ATK 4700/DEF 1300 LV 6]. Also when he attacks, Piercing damage is dealt

Cain: Piercing damage! But that means…did he plan this right from the beginning? Of course! He wanted me to destroy Citrine!

Sir Granmarg: Take 4400 points of damage and lose right away. Gem-Knight Ruby attacks. Go, Ruby Rip!

It fires a beam of energy that rips apart Sniper and moves towards Cain

Cain: Ah…Trap card, Half Force! This halves any Battle Damage I take during this turn

He holds his arms up as he is blasted into a wall screaming [Cain LP = 1000]

Sir Granmarg: At this time, my monster goes to defense mode [ATK 2500/DEF 1300 LV 6]. Well Cain McKnight? Are you going to surrender?

Cain: Surrender? You wish. Listen up you. I'm going to beat you, no matter what. So come on! Give me all you got! I'll crush you either way!

Sir Granmarg: So be it. I need to…punish you now it seems

They stare each other down
