Episode 69: The Trap of AllTech?!

In an apartment complex, a man wearing yellow and white is at a desk typing rapidly on a computer. Another man wearing red and black walks into the room yawning and opens a fridge.

Yellow: It's about time you woke up Diablo

Diablo: Shut it Angelo, my head aches. We got any of that pizza from last night leftover?

Angelo: Well I'm sorry I go to bed early. You spend all night partying and getting drunk.

Diablo: Least I'm cool. I don't waste all my time on the computer and at least have some fun

He pops open a pizza box and begins eating. Angelo opens an email box and sees a new message. Diablo walks over and looks at the screen

Diablo: A new job?

Angelo: It would appear so. …Would you get away!? You're dripping tomato sauce all over the computer!

Diablo: Alright, alright! Jeez…

Angelo reads the email as Diablo pours some orange juice and drinks it down. Angelo grins as he reads the message

Diablo: So? We taking the job? Pay high?

Angelo: Oh yes. Do we accept?

Diablo: I'll say yes. Send him a reply.

Opening

At Yusuke's home, Neo wakes up. He sits up on the sofa and yawns. He picks up his deck on the table and walks into the kitchen. Yusuke's dad is in there cooking as Yusuke is already seated

Yusuke: Morning!

Neo: Yeah. Good morning…

Yurashima: Breakfast would be ready in just a few minutes.

Neo: Good. I'm starved.

Yusuke: Well come on already. Sit down. You don't usually eat standing up, do you?

Neo: Oh, sorry!

He sits down as he is given a plate of food. Yurashima sits down as well. Neo picks up a fork, but stops when Yurashima and Yusuke fold their hands

All 3: Thanks for the food!

Yusuke begins eating. Neo slowly picks at his food and eats it. He chews without his expression changing.

Yurashima: What's wrong? It's not good?

Neo: Oh…no. It tastes great. I guess…I just feel sort of out of it today.

Yurashima: You want me to make you something specific?

Neo: No, don't do that. This is fine.

Yusuke finishes his breakfast and grabs his school bag

Yusuke: I'm off.

Yurashima: Have a good day

Neo: See you.

Yusuke heads out the door. Yurashima finishes eating and stands up too, grabbing his briefcase.

Yurashima: I'm going to work. Are you going to be alright here by yourself?

Neo: Don't worry. I'll stay inside

Yurashima: Alright. See you.

He heads out the door. Neo finishes his food and washes his dish. He sits on the couch again and just lies there. He pets Minko without thinking

Neo: There's nothing to do….I wonder, is my actual life like this? Is there a father or mother waiting for me?

He sits up, curled up

Neo: Where do I…belong?

At school, Yusuke sits down

Alicia: Hey Yusuke.

Yusuke: Good morning

Dex: How's Neo doing?

Yusuke: He seems alright. He's been acting depressed though. Maybe it's just my imagination…

Tamika: He doesn't have any memories after all. You can't blame him. To not know where you come from…who your family is…I can't imagine a worse kind of torment.

Teacher: Alright students, that's enough. Please take your seats. Now before we begin, I have some big news. Sokuji Armen himself gave our room the chance to go on a field trip to AllTech this weekend

Yusuke: AllTech?

Teacher: I need you to sign these permission slips before you can go, because it will be an all day event. The event will be a tour of the facility, meeting Sokuji Armen himself, and a lunch.

Yusuke: An all day event…

He smiles as tests are handed out. Angelo and Diablo are standing before the man in the shadows

Diablo: Hoo boy. These are some sweet cards.

Angelo: So all we have to do is beat these two kids with these cards?

Man: That is all. Will that be a problem?

Diablo: You're kidding right? We'll take the job!

Angelo: I warn you though; we require a small fee in advance.

The man snaps his fingers as henchmen bring in a bag. They spill out all the money inside onto the table.

Diablo: Jackpot!

Angelo pushes his glasses up and he grins as the light reflects off the lenses. Neo is sitting reading a book when Yusuke walks in

Neo: Hey.

Yusuke: What are you doing this Saturday?

Neo: This Saturday? I guess I was just going to go on a long walk.

Yusuke: You're coming with me on my field trip this weekend.

Neo: I am? I don't know…

Yusuke: Come on. All you do is sit around the house all the time. You need to get out there and do something.

Neo: Well…

Yusuke: Come on, AllTech is really great! They're going to be having a big lunch and a tour of the facility.

Neo: All…Tech? Well…I guess I could…

Yusuke: Alright then! This weekend's going to be a blast!

Neo: Yeah…

He looks down. At night, Yusuke is asleep as Neo is wide awake, staring at a card in his hand

Neo: AllTech…AllTech…that name won't leave my mind. Could this be the clue I was looking for that?

In the morning, Yusuke and Neo are on D- Wheels.

Yurashima: Have fun. And be careful

Yusuke: We will dad! Don't worry!

Both drive off. Neo puts a hand to his chest as he thinks

Yusuke: You okay?

Neo: Yeah. Just…excited I guess.

Yusuke: See? You're getting into the spirit of things already.

Neo: I guess….

They park in front of AllTech and join the crowd

Teacher: So this is your friend Yusuke?

Neo: That's right. My name is Neo

Teacher: Nice to have you on the trip.

The door opens as Armen steps out. Students instantly begin clapping

Armen: Welcome. It is an honor to show such young people the life blood I have created. Now, let's get started right away if you want to see everything. Come along now.

He turns around as the kids follow. Neo seems a little unsure as he watches Armen. Armen turns and Neo freezes up. Armen only smiles and Neo tries to smile back. The students pass the lobby with people typing on computers. Two people in a cubicle see them past and put down their cups of coffee, walking away. Armen leads everyone into a large assembly line

Armen: This is called the build floor. This is where we build our inexpensive and effective technology. Every worker, be it they lift heavy things or screw on bolts, are given the same pay. Here at AllTech, we try to keep our image real as the company for everyone.

Dex: I have a question sir. AllTech is sponsoring the Riders of Fate Grand Prix. But why? Don't you have enough money?

Armen: Such a smart young lad. Well, I'm not doing it for the money. I want to give everyone a real show. And also…to find the ultimate duelist

Alicia: Ultimate duelist?

Armen: Yes. A duelist who is perfect in everyone way. He has enough skill to beat anyone he fights. He fights with such ruthlessness that he doesn't give his opponent a fighting chance. A duelist so smart he can create miracles in hopeless situations. That is the duelist I seek.

Neo: The duelist he seeks? This guy…he's giving me the creeps again…

Armen: Well, that's enough for now. You kids may proceed to the exhibit portion of the tour to view some of AllTech's latest projects. Except for you, Yusuke Iruiza and Neo. I would like a word with you

Teacher: Hold on, maybe the whole class should wait.

Armen: Oh no. You go on. I promise I only need him for a second

Alicia: Be careful

Yusuke: Yeah.

Armen: Walk with me

The class leaves as Dex and Alicia look suspicious. Tamika is looking around. Armen opens a door using a key card and leads Yusuke and Neo in. Both gasp as they see a D- Wheel

Armen: This is my latest project. The Omega D.

Yusuke: Wow…look at all that hardware

Armen: I am going to make this the prize for whoever wins the Riders of Fate Grand Prix. The reason I am showing you boys this is to tell spur you on. The duelist who wins this tournament…he will be the ultimate duelist. Is that duelist you Yusuke? Or you Neo? I wanted to judge for myself. …Well, I suppose we'll see. Let's go.

???: Don't think so

Armen walks out of the room. He turns as it shuts. The door suddenly locks. Armen runs over and tries to open it as Yusuke kicks at it.

???: It's locked moron

Angelo and Diablo jump down from the rafters

Yusuke: Who are you?!

Angelo: I'm Angelo.

Diablo: And my name's Diablo. Better remember it

Both: And we're…

They both speak at the same time and their words are jumbled

Yusuke: You aren't on the same page…

Angelo: HUH?! I thought we agreed on this Diablo! We're the Shining Cherubs of White Hot Passion!

Diablo: Are you kidding me?! That's a girly name! I still say the Dark Devils of Black Despair

Angelo: Like that's better! It makes us sound like some kind of boy band! No one will take us seriously!

Diablo: It's better than your girly name!

Angelo: I'll kick you a [ss] right here!

Neo: Do they…even know we're here?

Yusuke: Do you think we can sneak by them?

Angelo: Hold on! Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Diablo: Our mission is to crush you. And we'll do it…

Both: As the Black and White Demonic Cherubs of Passionate Despair!

Angelo: Oh yes, that has such a ring to it! White Passion implies something peaceful, yet Black Despair implies evil and danger

Diablo: Sounds good to me.

Yusuke: Don't think we have a choice. Neo?

Neo: I guess

All 4 activate their Duel Disks

Diablo: The game follows Single Tag Rules. So you're on your own

Both: Fine!

All: Duel!

Yusuke and Neo vs Angelo and Diablo [Yusuke LP = 4000][Neo LP = 4000][Angelo LP = 4000][Diablo LP = 4000]

Armen: Are you alright?!

Yusuke: We're stuck! Go and get everyone else out of here! Me and Neo will take care of these two

Armen: I understand.

Angelo: I'll go first. I use Gold Sarcophagus. This lets me take a card in my deck and remove it from play. In two turns, it goes to my hand. Now I summon The Forgiving Maiden in defense mode [ATK 850/DEF 2000 LV 4]. I set a card and end my turn

Diablo: There you go with all those wussy girly cards again

Angelo: At least my cards have style! Yours are just ugly brutes!

Yusuke: Hey, don't start arguing again! We're in the middle of a duel! My turn. I summon Heavy Crusher in defense mode [ATK 1900/DEF 0 LV 4]. I set a card and end my turn. There. My monster should be safe. Battles don't start until Angelo's next turn. And then, we can beat them

Diablo: You guys are boring. All you're doing is playing defense. I'll show you. I set a monster and three cards. Turn end

Angelo: Diablo, you just played defense after criticizing us for playing defense

Diablo: But my strategy was different. I set cards.

Angelo: That doesn't make any difference! The only good thing that came out of your turn was that Sarcophagus counts down

Neo: Here we go. My turn. This place…something about it still unnerves me. Gotta focus…for Yusuke! I use the Continuous Spell, Vylon Element. When Vylon Equip Spells are destroyed, I can summon Tuners equal to the number of destroyed cards. Now I summon Vylon Hapt [ATK 1800/DEF 800 LV 4]. Now for the Spell card Double Summon. This lets me summon a second monster this turn. From my hand, I summon Vylon Stella [ATK 1400/DEF 1200 LV 3]. I tune the level 3 Vylon Stella and level 4 Vylon Hapt

Stella becomes 3 rings that Hapt flies through, becoming 4 stars [3 + 4 = 7]

Neo: Summon, the third strongest among the divine robots. Synchro Summon! Vylon Delta [ATK 1700/DEF 2800 LV 7]

Yusuke: Nice! Synchro Summon!

Neo: Now I equip him with Silver Bow and Arrow. This raises his attack and defense points by 300 [ATK 2000/DEF 3100 LV 7]. I set a card. At this time, Vylon Delta lets me add an Equip Spell from my deck to my hand

Angelo: Nice combo. Too bad…it won't do much good. My turn. At this time, Gold Sarcophagus has reached its end. The card returns to my hand. Now then…I summon Angel Core in defense mode [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1]

Yusuke: Angel Core?! Can it be…Machine Emperor?!

Neo: Got it.

Yusuke: My turn. I have to stop him before he can summon the Machine Emperor. And that means bringing his life points down to 0. I summon Exhaust Cloud [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1]. I tune the level 1 Exhaust Cloud and level 4 Heavy Crusher

Cloud becomes 1 ring that Crusher flies through, becoming 4 stars [1 + 4 = 5]

Yusuke: Faster than air, power races into a missile that pierces the heavens. Synchro Summon! Mach 5 Darter [ATK 2000/DEF 1000 LV 5]

Angelo: Synchro monster? Isn't that dangerous to use against us?

Yusuke: Once per turn, I can deal 1000 points of damage to the opponent. Air Cannon!

Angelo: Trap card, Shine Sheer. This negates any damage I take and deals it to you.

The air is blocked and flies to hit Yusuke [Yusuke LP = 3000]. He gasps in pain and Neo steps forward

Yusuke: I'm fine! Don't worry!

Angelo: You withstood it. How fascinating. But your attempt to deal damage to me was useless.

Yusuke: In that case, I attack the set monster

Darter pierces it. Darter is blown up as well

Yusuke: What?!

Diablo: Too bad! Any monster that attacks Night Assailant is destroyed.

Yusuke: That leaves me with no cards. Turn…turn end.

Diablo: Here we go. Trap card, The Coming Chaos. Now I can add a DARK monster to my hand. And then I draw. I summon Devil Core [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1]. Trap card, House of Adhesive Tape. This destroys a monster with 500 or less defense points if it is summoned

Yusuke: He's destroying it!

Diablo: Trap card, Michizure! This lets me destroy another monster when one of my monster is destroyed by discarding one card. I destroy…Angel Core!

Neo: Both at once?!

Angelo: When Angel Core is destroyed, I get to summon Machine Emperor Angiel Infinity [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1], Angiel Top [ATK 100/DEF 500 LV 1], Angiel Attack [ATK 900/DEF 200 LV 1], Angiel Guard [ATK 300/DEF 1200 LV 1], and Angiel Carrier [ATK 600/DEF 400 LV 1]. Form, Machine Emperor Angiel!

Diablo: When Deviel Core is destroyed, I get to summon Machine Emperor Deviel Infinity [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1], Deviel Top [ATK 500/DEF 100 LV 1], Deviel Attack [ATK 900/DEF 200 LV 1], Deviel Guard [ATK 100/DEF 1000 LV 1], and Deviel Carrier [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 1]. Form, Machine Emperor Deviel!

Both Tops become heads for the Infinitys. Both Attacks become a set of arms and both Guards become a set of legs. Both Carriers turns into wings, Angiel's being golden with feathers [ATK 1900/DEF 2300 LV 1] and Carrier's being black and boney [ATK 2300/DEF 1900 LV 1].

Yusuke: Two…

Angelo: Leave Neo to me. You can have Yusuke

Diablo: Suits me fine. It feels a bit wrong beating on kids I'll admit…but I'm getting paid for this, son who cares?! I attack you directly Yusuke! Niflheim's Nova!

Neo: Trap card, Mirror Force. This negates an attack and instead destroys all your monsters in attack mode!

Diablo: Sorry. Deviel Carrier, once per turn, negates a card effect. I negate Mirror Force!

The card is shattered. Yusuke is hit by the beam and is blasted back [Yusuke LP = 700]. Neo slumps on the floor

Neo: Yusuke! Yusuke, Yusuke!

Angelo: Sorry. It's nothing against you. But we were hired

Diablo: And sadly, we were hired to make sure you don't leave this room alive.

Neo begins to shed tears as Angelo and Diablo both begin laughing as their Machine Emperors float in the air
