Episode 234: Pierce the Light, Colorless Dark Dragon!

At the theatre, the soldiers in the audience are watching as the duel continues. [Sir Kuraz LP = 1300][Alice LP = 3400]. Alice has Planet Guardian [ATK 1000/DEF 1500 LV 4] and no other cards. Sir Kuraz has Fabled Leviathan [ATK 3000/DEF 2000 LV 10] and Fabled Ragin [ATK 2300/DEF 1800 LV 5]. Watching this duel through a hologram are the other Knights.

Sir Willas: Kuraz is doing rather well. For our 9th seat, his dueling skills are not half bad.

Sir Zaborg: That is because he is fighting against one of the weakest among the Seven Stars. Even someone like Thestalos and Caius could have taken her. Just because he can does not mean much.

Sir Raiza: Come on Zaborg, no need to be rude. After all, you're #7. Ginro's already gone. If Kuraz can't do this, you'll be sent into battle.

Lady Urma: See how you like the field of battle for a change.

Sir Zaborg: Gr….

Chaos King: Comrades, enough. There is no need to point accusing fingers at one another. After all, we are all warriors fighting for a single, united purpose.

Sir Raiza: Hm….the king's right. Come on, root for Kuraz. After all, his victory is our victory.

Sir Granmarg: Yes….indeed…..

Opening

Sir Kuraz: Now, to recast the roles on the field! Fabled Leviathan attacks Planet Guardian

Alice: Planet Guardian can negate his destruction once by battle!

The monster takes the attack dead on and still stands afterwards

Sir Kuraz: No matter. After all, your monster can only defend itself against one attack. Fabled Ragin, attack Planet Guardian!

The monster flies towards it and chops it to pieces with its claws.

Alice: Now I'm defenseless, but at least I got through that.

Sir Kuraz: Your performance still lacks luster, but at least you're following the script now.

Alice: The script?

Sir Kuraz: Oh my, yes. You fight with all your heart and soul and almost manage to win. But then, at the very end of it all, you fail in your quest to stop me and to save your friends! Such a beautiful story….it brings tears to my eyes just talking about it!

Takimaru: Oh boy….

Alice: Well, sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not down for the count just yet. Before you start talking about victory, try to actually finish me!

Sir Kuraz: I see, you have such spirit! I suppose you aren't simply going to roll over and let me win, now will you? Very well! I'll have to beat you and end your silly little performance. I end my turn, curtain.

Tyson: That's the spirit Alice! Don't give up!

Takimaru: We're rooting for you! We know you can win!

Sir Kuraz: What?! You dare to compliment her lackluster acting?! Truly you haven't seen a REAL pro at work!

Takimaru: You're loony! This isn't a play!

Sir Kuraz: Haven't you heard the expression, "The world is but a stage?"

Takimaru: It's not meant to be taken so literally!

Alice: That's enough Takimaru. Just talking to him won't do a thing. I'll show him my power. And I'll make him pay for messing with us! Here we go, my turn. I activate Prayer on a Shooting Star. This lets me draw 2 cards from my deck. I summon Comet- Fist Fighter in defense mode [ATK 1500/DEF 1000 LV 4]

Man: That's it. That's all she's going to summon?

Man 2: She probably doesn't have anything else to play. After all, Kuraz is #9. He's fairly good.

Man: You'd better be careful saying stuff like that. After all, he has a lot of authority over us.

Sir Kuraz: If that is all you are going to do, then I'll wipe you out right now. My turn, scene! Fabled Ragin, attack Comet- Fist Fighter!

Ragin flies forward and cuts the monster in two, destroying it

Sir Kuraz: And now you're defenseless! Attack her directly Fabled Leviathan! Go, Sea's Fury.

It creates dark water in its hand and fires it at Alice. She looks on in horror as she is hit and swept into a wall. She hits the wall hard and she leans forward as she coughs blood [Alice LP = 400].

Tyson and Takimaru: Alice!

Takimaru: You son of a….stop hurting her right now! Don't make me come down there!

Sir Kuraz: Be silent. You are not an extra, so you are not getting involved. Just sit back and enjoy the rest of the show.

Alice attempts to stand up, spitting up water and coughing as she gets on her knees. Kuraz clicks his teeth.

Sir Kuraz: You look pathetic. Truly, truly pathetic. You remind me of my adopted sister in a way.

Alice: Adopted sister…? You mean Demiurge, the one Luna fought?

Sir Kuraz: Was that her name? I'm already starting to forget her. Such a weakling….to call her my sister is an insult….to call her even a pet would be an insult. She's better off dead.

Alice's eyes widen and she stands right up.

Alice: That's it. I was angry before. But to say something so horrible…to say you wish someone who loves you is dead…I won't forgive you! Luna said that Demiurge looks up to you! You're her hero! And then you go…and say that….inexcusable! I'll never let that statement go unpunished! I'm going to beat you right here and now!

Sir Kuraz: So your fire has been lit. Very well. I suppose we can call this the end of Act III. Now begins our final act. Come then, show me your power, member of the Seven Stars. Let us give these people a real show!

Elsewhere, Yuji and Luna are driving down the road.

Luna: I feel embarrassed….thanks for doing this.

Yuji: No problem. I have no problem helping you with these groceries.

Luna: Thanks for saying that. I'm still going to feel embarrassed though

Yuji: Heh. Hm? What's going on at the theatre?

Luna: What do you mean?

Yuji: It looks like the lights are on. But I thought there wasn't to be a performance tonight.

Luna: Hey you're right. I wonder if it has something to do with that flier….

Yuji: Flier?

Luna: Oh, when I was walking by Alice's house, she had a flyer. You know, one of those papers the theatre hands on when a new play comes to town?

Yuji: She was? That's odd. She didn't mention it to me.

Luna: Or me for that matter….

Yuji: I don't like this. Come on, let's get these back to your place and get the others.

Luna: Right!

The two drive off.

Alice: Alright, it's my turn! With this….I have a chance! I summon a monster in face down defense mode. I also place one card face down and end my turn.

Sir Kuraz: Then it is my turn. I discard two monsters and Special Summon another Fabled Soulkius [ATK 2200/DEF 2100 LV 6]. Now I summon Fabled Oltro [ATK 800/DEF 500 LV 2].

Tyson: Is he?!

Sir Kuraz: I tune the level 2 Fabled Oltros and level 6 Fabled Soulkius.

Oltros becomes 2 rings that Soulkius flies through, becoming 6 stars [2 + 6 = 8]

Sir Kuraz: Radiate and shine! The casting call has you in the lead role! Synchro Summon! To the stage, Fabled Valkyrus [ATK 2900/DEF 1700 LV 8].

Takimaru: Another one of those things?!

Sir Kuraz: Face it girl, you are completely outmatched! Fabled Ragin, attack!

It swoops quickly and destroys the monster [Star Sorceress]

Tyson: Alice!

Sir Kuraz: This is the end! Now then, end this Fabled Leviathan

Alice: I don't think so. Trap card, Laws of the Universe. When a monster I control is destroyed and the opponent attacks me, I can negate the attack and destroy all my opponent's monsters.

Sir Kuraz: What!?

Alice: Go!

The attack is reflected and turns into three beams that destroy all 3 Synchro monsters.

Sir Kuraz: No way….my actors….

Tyson: Yes! Go Alice!

Sir Kuraz: In this really happening? Damn it….I have to end my turn. My hand would be discarded due to Card of Demise, but I have no hand to discard.

Alice: That's not a problem. Here we go, my turn! I summon Omniverse [ATK 1700/DEF 1300 LV 4]. Using this monster, I can revive one monster from my graveyard. I have the option of raising its level, but I don't need to do that. Come on back, Spell Astronomer [ATK 1000/DEF 1000 LV 4]. I could raise his level, but no need. I tune the level 4 Spell Astronomer and level 4 Omniverse.

Omniverse becomes 4 rings that Astronomer flies through, becoming 4 stars [4 + 4 = 8]

Alice: The….

Sir Kuraz: No! No! No! No! This is not in my script! How dare you fools mess up my lovely work?!

Alice: Um…are you okay?

Sir Kuraz: You are not allowed to Synchro Summon! This is wrong, wrong, wrong!

Alice: Well…whatever, I'll still do it! Now it's too late for the chant though. Come on out, Darkstar Dragon [ATK 2500/DEF 2000 LV 8].

Tyson: Yes, her ace monster!

Man: Uh oh!

Man 2: Sir Kuraz!

Alice: This….is for hurting my friends and family you creep! Attack him directly!

Sir Kuraz: Trap card, Patent Treaty. When this card is activated, I end the Battle Phase. And then we both draw a card.

Alice: Fine. I set a card and end my turn.

Sir Kuraz: My turn, scene! Tell me Alice, do you know why I use theatre terms?

Alice: I don't really care but….

Sir Kuraz: You see, I was once like you. A brilliant young writer with hope in my eyes. I had just finished my first script and how excited I was! I could not wait to show everyone my wonderful work! Yet everyone I went to would not accept it. I went to 10 different people and yet still, no one would accept it. For years I wondered, what on earth could that reason be? And then my answer finally came. I was approached by our king. And he told my something. He told this world was nothing but a giant stage! We are all actors fighting for roles in jobs! Fighting for rewards for our acting with food and shelter! Fighting for respect in friends! And so the king promised me one thing. If I assist him in his goals, he'll give me power! Power to become anything and anyone I want in this world!

Alice: You're insane! It's true this world may be competitive! But you can't give up so easily! You need to hold on to your dream and keep going!

Sir Kuraz: Ah yes. I know you are just like me. You also hold a dream deep down inside. You wish for that book to become successful.

Alice: How do you…!

Sir Kuraz: That is the reason why I dueled you. To tell you….the sorrow will destroy you. People only know you in the role of a singer. They'll NEVER accept you in the role of a writer. Rest assured though. I'll need your life before the sadness comes. My turn, scene! I use Scapegoat. This allows me to Special Summon four Sheep Tokens [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1 each]. Heh heh heh. Now I use the Spell card Heredity. This lets me revive one Synchro monster as a Tuner monster. I revive my Fabled Valkyrus [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 8].

Alice: Eh? Oh no!

Tyson: It can't be!

Takimaru: No…please don't tell me…

Sir Kuraz: I tune my level 8 Fabled Valkyrus and my 4 level 1 Sheep Tokens.

Valkyrus becomes 8 rings that all 4 Tokens fly through, becoming 4 stars [8 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 12]

Sir Kuraz: Radiate and shine! The casting call has you in the lead role! Synchro Summon! To the stage, Creator of Light- Hikalanch [ATK 5000/DEF 5000 LV 12].

A bright light shines and rainbows appear. Soldiers begin to flee as Alice, Takimaru, and Tyson cover up.

Takimaru: Ah!

Tyson: My eyes are burning!

A cocoon of rainbows is formed. From the cocoon, a butterfly creature breaks out and releases a great and powerful light.

Alice: A Creator….

It shrinks in size to fight inside the building and shrieks. From the street, everyone sees the bright light resonating from the theatre.

Raythe: Ugh. What's with this damn light so late at night?

Cain: This signal….no doubt. A Creator is there.

Yuji: A Creator….come on everyone, we need to hurry!

Sir Kuraz: Prepare thyself for the end! With this, Act IV and our great show comes to an end! You acting was superb, but I'm afraid I won't be recasting you in anything anytime soon. End her life my Creator! Bright Morning Radiance!

The monster absorbs rainbows into itself. In a flash, its wings open and it releases a powerful aurora of light. Everyone is blinded as the light engulfs Alice and her monster.

Tyson: Alice! Alice!

Takimaru: Are you okay?! Alice!

Sir Kuraz: Curtain. Thanks for coming ladies and gentlemen. We hope you enjoyed your show. Please come again…..

Alice: Don't just shut the curtain yet. After all, Act V is just starting.

The light vanishes and Alice still stands.

Tyson: You're okay!

Sir Kuraz: What?! But this is impossible!

Alice: Darkstar Dragon can release a set card and negate all damage I take. Plus, since I sent the Trap card Cosmos Preservation to the graveyard, my monster is not destroyed.

Sir Kuraz: No….no! No, no, no, no, no! This is NOT in my script! Not in the script! Why?! Why do you fools continue to disobey my script!? It's a wonderful script!

Tyson: You can't predict everything! People can often surpass your expectations

Takimaru: Yeah. And you're a lousy writer anyway!

Sir Kuraz: I see now…..it's not me. It's you! It's you selfish actors! How dare you not follow my script?! I'll make you all pay!

Alice: I've heard enough of this! You can't say stuff like that! We aren't just actors searching for jobs. True, there's conflict, and some people are better in certain jobs than others. But we also depend on each other. We help each other accomplish our dreams.

Sir Kuraz: A dream. I learned long ago to forget about all dreams. They are hopeless things to have. They only act as chains.

Alice: It's true, I'm scared. I don't know if I'm any good at writing. I'll only know though if I give it a chance! And I'll never give up until I see it through to the end!

A powerful aura is given off. She screams from power.

Takimaru: Is this…?

Sir Kuraz: N-No! This isn't in the script either!

Alice: What…is this power?

???: Follow your dream. Let neither rock nor mountain block your path.

Alice: Well….alright, I'll keep going! It's my draw! This card…..is it true?! Alright, get ready for this! I reverse the level of a monster out [ATK 2500/DEF 2000 LV -8] and Special Summon Agent of Seven [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 8].

Sir Kuraz: It can't be….that wasn't in the list of roles…not that it matters! I use the effect of my Creator! When my opponent Special Summons a monster, I can destroy it and deal 500 points of damage to the opponent. Truth Shines!

Alice: Sorry! Agent of Seven's Special Summon can not be negated. And now, my power, I tune the level 8 Agent of Seven and level -8 Darkstar Dragon!

Seven becomes 8 rings that Dragon flies through, becoming 8 black stars that destroy each other. [8 + -8 = 0]

Alice: Though the sun and moon may go out, the stars will only shine and erase the darkness from the world. Zero Synchro! Illuminate, Colorless Dark Dragon [ATK 2700/DEF 2200 LV 0]

Tyson: Wow….

Sir Kuraz: Fool! I use the effect of my Creator! Truth Shines!

Alice: No! My dream won't be stopped here! I use the effect of Colorless Dark Dragon. Clarify!

The light fades out

Alice: By removing from play 3 Spell or Trap cards, one of my opponent's monsters has their effects negate and their attack points reduced to 0 until the End Phase [ATK 0/DEF 5000 LV 12].

Sir Kuraz: An attack power of zero?! No! My…my script!

Alice: Here's a bit of advice. Next time….make a better script. Colorless Dark Dragon attacks Creator of Light- Hikalanch. Go, Clear Sonic Shooter!

The monster charges its attack. Hikalanch loads light into its wings and flaps them, creating a massive energy wave that hurtles towards Dragon. It fires its attack and it hits the waves. The Dragon's attack keeps getting stronger and starts to push the other attack away.

Sir Kuraz: Impossible!

Alice: Go, end this!

The attack punches through, piercing Hikalanch through the chest. The monster shrieks in pain and slowly fades into dust. The attack strikes the ground and blows Kuraz away as he screams [Sir Kuraz LP = 0]. Alice deactivates her Duel Disk and walks over.

Alice: Curtain.

Sir Kuraz: Impressive….very impressive….it looks I lost. Me, #9. What an insult…you're strong girl. You had a good dream. I'm happy for you.

Alice: Mm mm. It's not my dream. It's the dream me and my friends share. The dream we all want for ourselves

Sir Kuraz: I see….then you AND your friends have a good dream. I wish….I could have one like that. Well….I could I suppose. Now that I'll see her again….

Alice: Her?

She reaches for Kuraz, but he vanishes in a bright flash. Alice recoils as Takimaru and Tyson's rope vanishes and they fall to the ground.

Takimaru: Agh!

Alice: Hey! Are you two alright?!

Tyson: I'm fine. What about you?

Alice: Don't worry. I'm good.

She looks up smiling at Colorless as it vanishes into stardust.

Luna: What was that?

Raythe: Must have been another Zero Synchro monster.

Yuji: So another Knight must have been defeated.

Around town, geysers of Chaos erupt from the ground as rocks and wind load it into containers.

Sir Raiza: The king was right. Forcing Zero Synchro monsters and Creators to battle creates Chaos.

Sir Granmarg: Hm….yes indeed. But the question is….why so much?

Back in the theatre, Alice gets a phone call.

Alice: Hang on, hello?

Man: Hello, Miss Kenjiro? The writer of A Starry Knight?

Alice: Yes?

Man: We'll glad to speak to you. We personally thought your book was excellent.

Alice: You….you did?!

Tyson and Takimaru: They did?!

Man: We would love to make a deal with you. Should I draw up some contracts?

Alice: Y-Yes! That would…be…amazing….

She begins to tear up. Tyson and Takimaru grin at each other as Alice continues to sob happily
