Card of the Day: Absent Great Condor
Episode 230: Appear, Condor King of Nothing
Late at night, Yuji is working on a D- Wheel.
Yuji: Where are those two? Raythe was supposed to take the late shift. Enzan wasn't even at school today. Maybe one of the others has seen him.
He types on a laptop
Yuji: Only Alice is online. Hm….maybe she knows something,
Alice: Yuji, you're online? Good. Something odd is going on. I haven't seen Takimaru in a while.
In the stadium, Takimaru appears to be dueling. His Dual- Scepter Wizard destroys an opposing Tragoedia. He fist pumps seeing this.
Alice: Luna's working on her biology test. Tyson's out getting something for me. And Raythe….
Yuji: What about Raythe?
Alice: I don't know. I passed him earlier tonight, but he ignored me. He seemed in a real rush. I don't know what he wants to do at the old steel mill in town though.
Yuji: The old steel mill? Hm….hang on, I need to check something out.
Alice: What?
Yuji: Not sure yet. Call the police, just to be safe.
He logs off and gets on his bike.
Yuji: Are they after you now?
Opening
In a wide hallway, Zaborg is walking when Raiza meets him
Sir Raiza: Hey Zaborg. You seen Ginro around? I want to ask him something.
Sir Zaborg: You need to wait. Ginro was sent off on a mission by our king.
Sir Raiza: He was? That's odd. Usually the king has a meeting before he sends out one of our kind. Especially someone who's in the top ten.
Sir Zaborg: He stated that he did not want to make a scene. After all, the situation is much worse sending #8, don't you think? He does not want the other Knights to worry.
Sir Raiza: ….Oh, I get it. Straight from the king's lips huh?
He walks off with a grin on his face. Zaborg watches him go and he snarls with fury. In town, Raythe moves closer to the water.
Raythe: This is not happening again! Heavy Storm!
A strong wind blows and sends him blasting into the air and back on the road. Ginro turns back and slows down again
Sir Ginro: I knew I shouldn't have taken you lightly. It appears I actually need to beat you.
Raythe: Hm. You said that with such an insulting tone. I think I'm insulted.
Sir Ginro: Well then, let's keep going. I like strong opponents. [Sir Ginro LP = 2800][Raythe LP = 2200][SPC: Raythe = 6 Sir Ginro = 6]. Ginro has Windmill Genex [ATK 2000/DEF 1600 LV 7]. Raythe has no other cards on the field.
Raythe: Genex monsters….they're more annoying than I thought. But these don't even qualify as a real challenge! I draw [SPC: Raythe = 7 Sir Ginro = 7]. I use the effect of Speed World 2. I pay 7 Speed Counters [SPC: Raythe = 0 Sir Ginro = 7]. Now I place a monster in face down defense mode and end my turn.
Sir Ginro: A set card. Nice try, but I know you don't use flip effect monsters. That means you won't scare me away. I draw [SPC: Sir Ginro = 8 Raythe = 1]. I use the effect of Speed World 2 as well. I pay 7 Speed Counters [SPC: Sir Ginro = 1 Raythe = 1] and draw a card. Speed Spell- Future Deal. I pay 1000 life points [Sir Ginro LP = 1800] and Special Summon one Genex monster from my graveyard as long as it has 1000 or less attack points. I Special Summon Genex Spare form my graveyard [ATK 800/DEF 1200 LV 3]. As there is another Genex monster on the field, Genex Spare can be counted as Genex Controller on the field. And now, as there is a monster with Genex Controller in its name on the field, I can summon Genex Furnace without a Release. [ATK 2000/DEF 1300 LV 5]. I tune the level 3 Genex Spare and level 5 Genex Furnace.
Spare becomes 3 rings that Furnace flies through, becoming 5 stars [3 + 5 = 8]
Sir Ginro: Burn brightly and melt down everything into liquid steel. Heat on, Synchro Summon! Thermal Genex [ATK 2400/DEF 1200 LV 8]
Raythe: This guy just keeps Synchro Summoning. I've gotta end this quick or he'll overpower me.
Sir Ginro: Thermal Genex gains 200 attack points for all FIRE monsters [ATK 2800/DEF 1200 LV 8]. This is going to be the end. Windmill Genex, attack the set monster.
Genex blows a strong wind that blasts the monster apart
Raythe: When Murder- Left Crow is destroyed, I get to Special Summon another one from my deck [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 3].
Sir Ginro: Murder- Left Crow? I do not recall that being one of your cards.
Raythe: This was always one of my cards. I just haven't decided to use it until this point. I figured I need all the advantages I can to beat you guys.
Sir Ginro: Fine. Take all the advantages you want. But against me, such things won't change a single thing. I attack with Thermal Genex. Heat Blast!
It shoots a powerful stream of fire and cooks the monster.
Sir Ginro: And now his effect. For every Genex monster in the graveyard, you take 200 points of damage. There are a total of eight Genex monsters currently in the graveyard. Which means you take 1600 points of damage.
Thermal shoots out even more fire and Raythe becomes covered by it. He screams in pain and slows down tremendously [Raythe LP = 600].
Sir Ginro: Fall into defeat, Raythe Nakago! If this is the limit of your abilities, then there really was no point in me coming out here. Against number 8, you stood no chance.
Raythe: It sounds like you're already starting to write my obituary. Sorry, but I'm still kicking! You won't be me in the grave that easily! Since Murder- Left Crow was destroyed in battle, I get to Special Summon yet another Murder- Left Crow [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 3].
Sir Ginro: You are trying hard to get out a Tuner monster. It is clear what your goal must be. You won't reach that point before you lose though.
Raythe: Well if you're so sure, let's keep going!
Elsewhere, Yuji pulls up in front of the old steel mill.
Yuji: This is the place. I'm sensing something….someone was here.
He gets off and heads inside. He looks around and hears someone banging. He looks around and then up to see Shigeru suspended from the ceiling.
Yuji: Mr. Nakago!
Shigeru: You….you're a friend of Raythe, right?
Yuji: Yeah. What's going on?
Shigeru: That man…that man wearing metal armor. Please, you need to help Raythe!
Yuji: Raythe….he's fighting? Heh. I wouldn't worry. Raythe can take care of himself.
Shigeru: But aren't you a little worried?!
Yuji: Of course. After all, friends naturally worry. But Raythe….he's shown that he can take care of himself. So I don't need to worry about him as much, because I know he'll always pull through, no matter what.
Raythe: My turn [SPC: Raythe = 2 Sir Ginro = 2]. I summon Crying Chick in defense mode [ATK 300/DEF 100 LV 1]. When this card is summoned, neither of us are allowed to battle until the start of my next turn. I set a card. Turn end.
Sir Ginro A cheap diversion, nothing else. My attacks will just come get you next turn. In the meantime, I'll take this time to build up my attack force. Here I go [SPC: Raythe = 3 Sir Ginro = 3]. I summon Genex Turbine [ATK 1400/DEF 1300 LV 4]. This card raises the attack points of all face up Machine type monsters by 400. [ATK 3200/DEF 1200 LV 8][ATK 2400/DEF 1600 LV 7][ATK 1800/DEF 1300 LV 4]. Turn end.
Raythe: So you're raising the attack points of your monsters? I'll have to get rid of that annoying monster first. My turn [SPC: Raythe = 4 Sir Ginro = 4]. I summon Nevermore Raven [ATK 1300/DEF 0 LV 4]. Level four Nevermore Raven tunes to level 3 Murder-Left Crow and level 1 Crying Chick
Crow becomes 3 rings that Raven and Chick fly through, becoming 5 stars [3 + 1 + 4 = 8]
Raythe: Winds of bravery and power unite together to create a windstorm of new hope. Synchro Summon! Appear, Great Condor Ezikiel [ATK 3000/DEF 2500 LV 8]. Now, attack Genex Turbine. Go!
Condor spits out a tornado that destroys Turbine. Ginro reacts in agony and slows down tremendously [Sir Ginro LP = 600].
Sir Ginro: Darn….[ATK 2800/DEF 1200 LV 8][ATK 2000/DEF 1600 LV 7].
Raythe: Too bad. Now Thermal Genex is too weak to fight with Ezikiel. Now, as Nevermore Raven was used as Synchro material, whenever the Synchro monster destroys another monster by battle, I get to draw a card from my deck. Now I set a card and end my turn.
Sir Ginro: What they say about your skills is the truth. But….it's not what I'm looking for.
Raythe: Hmph. How about we stop then before you hurt yourself?
Sir Ginro: That's funny. I don't quit my duels though. My turn [SPC: Sir Ginro = 5 Raythe = 5]. First I change Windmill Genex and Thermal Genex to defense mode [ATK 2800/DEF 1200 LV 8][ATK 2000/DEF 1600 LV 7]. Now I summon Genex Neutron in defense mode [ATK 1800/DEF 1200 LV 4]. Turn end. At this time, using the effect of Genex Neutron, a Genex monster of level 4 or below goes to my hand.

Sir Ginro: ….Your uncle. That's the final insult I'll allow. My turn [SPC: Sir Ginro = 7 Raythe = 7]. Speed Spell- Synchro Panic. As I have Speed Counters of 7 or more, I revive Synchro monsters. Come back, Thermal Genex, Hydro Genex [ATK 0/DEF 1200 LV 8][ATK 0/DEF 1800 LV 6]. Now I summon Genex Repairman [ATK 1100/DEF 0 LV 4]. When this card is summoned, the levels of all other Machine monsters can change to whatever I want at the cost of half my life points [Sir Ginro LP = 300]. I'll change the levels of all other monsters to two [ATK 0/DEF 1200 LV 2][ATK 0/DEF 1600 LV 2][ATK 0/DEF 1800 LV 2][ATK 1800/DEF 1200 LV 2].
Raythe: Wait a minute….5 monsters, 12 levels. Is this…?!
Sir Ginro: I hate using monsters like this. It is too over the top to count as an assassination. But this is the only possible way to win. I tune the level 4 Genex Repairman, level 2 Genex Neutron, level 2 Hydro Genex, level 2 Thermal Genex, and level 2 Windmill Genex.
Repairman becomes 4 rings that Neutron, Hydro, Thermal, and Windmill fly through, becoming 8 stars [4 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 12]
Sir Ginro: With blades of steel and teeth of daggers, slice the world to ribbons and assassinate the world. Limit Over Synchro Summon. Appear, Creator of Steel- Metaron [ATK 5000/DEF 5000 LV 12]
The road breaks as a spinning buzz saw breaks through the ground. The monster has many blades on it spinning at a very fast pace. Raythe's eyes widen in fear and breathes deeply.
Raythe: So this is a Creator….
Shigeru: What is that thing?!
Yuji: This guy has a Creator too?!
Sir Mobius and Chaos King watch through a hologram
Chaos King: That's odd….I don't recall sending out Ginro OR giving him the order to use his Creator….
He squeezes his armrest and it breaks off.
Chaos King: Mobius….
Sir Mobius bows low and leaves the room. From far away, everyone sees the Creator.
Luna: Another one?! Damn…this can wait!
Tyson: It's even bigger than the other one.
Alice: Let's get over there.
Takimaru: Damn. Why now?
Effigy: Okay, now breathe deeply.
The two sit in front of a fire meditating. Enzan sneezes suddenly
Enzan: Sorry. Think I have a cold.
Effigy: You need to FOCUS.
Enzan: I'm trying! I just can't sit still!
The ground shakes. Both turn and see the Creator.
Enzan: Another one of those things!
Effigy: Darn. Guess we better get down there quickly.
Sir Ginro: At this time, I use the effect of Metaron. The attack points of all other monsters are halved. Power Cut [ATK 1500/DEF 1250 LV 8]
Raythe: What?!
Sir Ginro: That's right. To even challenge Metaron, you need a monster with 10000 attack points. Anything else is trash. Creator of Steel- Metaron, attack. Nickel Steel Blade.
It lifts its gigantic blade and slowly begins to swing it at Ezikiel.
Raythe: Trap card, Synchro Out. This defuses Ezikiel back into his original Tuner monster and non-Tuner monsters. Come back, Murder- Left Crow [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 3], Crying Chick [ATK 300/DEF 100 LV 1], and Nevermore Raven [ATK 1300/DEF 0 LV 4]
Sir Ginro: Don't forget, my monster cuts all of their attack and defense points [ATK 400/DEF 300 LV 3][ATK 150/DEF 100 LV 1][ATK 750/DEF 0 LV 3]. In that case, I destroy Murder- Left Crow.
The monster is crushed.
Sir Ginro: It won't be much longer. Now I use Speed World 2 [SPC: Sir Ginro = 0 Raythe = 7] and draw a card. Turn end.
Shigeru: How can he fight that thing!? There's no way!
Yuji: It may seem bad. But don't give up.
Shigeru: You…you have a lot of faith in him.
Yuji: It's like I said. Raythe has shown I can trust him. He never loses, no matter what.
Raythe: That monster's pretty big. Heh. Can't wait to smash it into scrap! Here we go, my turn [SPC: Raythe = 8 Sir Ginro = 1]. I activate Speed Spell- Overspeed. This lets me take a monster and Spell or Trap card from the graveyard and put them in the mind. But, my Speed Counters are lost [SPC: Raythe = 0 Sir Ginro = 1]. Now I summon Murder- Left Crow once more [ATK 800-400/DEF 600-300 LV 3]. Now I tune level 3 Murder- Left Crow, level 4 Nevermore Raven, and level 1 Crying Chick

Sir Ginro: Something that's important to you? Don't make me laugh! People may be cruel, but at least they acknowledge when they hate something. You…you don't even admit it!
Raythe: And what's that mean?!
Sir Ginro: A fool who doesn't even know his own heart is not worth my time or effort. My turn [SPC: Raythe = 0 Sir Ginro = 2]. I summon Genex Power Planner [ATK 300/DEF 200 LV 1]. Now I can add a Genex effect monster to my hand [Genex Spore]. Metaron, attack Great Condor Ezikiel!
Raythe: Trap card, Direct Strike. Now your attack becomes a direct one. And by discarding Wing Cocoon, I can negate all my damage.
The attack is blocked.
Sir Ginro: You can't win! Those who fight for false beliefs and love will not overcome me!
Raythe: What the hell are you blabbering on about?!
Sir Ginro: Raythe Nakago, I'm saying you're selfish. The things you say you fight for…are illusions. Your uncle, your friends, such things are nothing to you. Yet you try to fit in anyway. You, Raythe Nakago, the Dark Claw's most loyal soldier! And now look at you!
Raythe: What are you trying to say?
Sir Ginro: I was trained as a warrior. Living in the cold mountains as part of my training, I was shown no love or friendship. Do you know why? Because those things are weights! All they do is drag you down! To be strong, one must become totally free of bonds or otherwise unions. That's why you've grown weak! Because you've forgotten that!
Raythe: …Are you done? Cause you make me sick. You know, I felt the same way once. I thought that being alone was the only way I could be strong. But I was wrong. What I thought was strength was only weakness. Now I'm different though! Yuji and the others, my uncle, all of them have shown me I was wrong. And now, I'll show you that you are wrong!
Sir Ginro: Fine then! Show me that I am wrong and you are right! But you'll never defeat my Creator!
Raythe: I won't….I won't….give up!
???: Perform it. Zero Synchro.
Raythe: Huh?!
Light begins to pour from him.
Yuji: It's happening again!
The top card of Raythe's deck glows as the seven pointed star appears in the sky
Raythe: So, this is the Seven- Star Knight's power….not bad at all! I draw [SPC: Raythe = 0 Sir Ginro = 3]. By reversing the level of a monster out [ATK 1500/DEF 1250 LV -8], I Special Summon Agent of Seven [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 8]. I tune the level 8 Agent of Seven and level -8 Great Condor Ezikiel.
Sir Ginro: What's this level of power?!
Raythe: In an empty world, the first wind rips the emptiness away to reveal the great truth. Zero Synchro! Blow with the wind, Absent Great Condor [ATK 3400/DEF 3000 LV 0].
Sir Ginro: Zero Synchro?! But it is not the same level of power….you're not the one then. Don't forget, Metaron, halves its power [ATK 1700/DEF 1500 LV 0]. Now it's even weaker!
Raythe: Power isn't determined by attack power! After all, Genex Power Planner is pretty weak.
Sir Ginro: I knew you were going to target it. Trap card, Urgent Rush. Now I get to use a Speed Spell from my deck as long as I fit the requirements. I use Speed Spell- High Speed Crash. I destroy Genex Power Planner and destroy Absent Great Condor.
Raythe: It won't be that easy! Trap card, Wind Currents to Midgard. This lets me pay half my life points [Raythe LP = 300] and remove from play one monster [Great Condor Ezikiel]. Now from the graveyard or out-of-play zone, I get to Special Summon monsters with a combined lower level than the monster removed. I bring back Desperado Tornado [ATK 2000-1000/DEF 0 LV 4], Kamikaze Flyer [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1], and Tornado Fighter [ATK 1700-850/DEF 0 LV 3]. And by releasing Kamikaze Flyer, Condor's effect activates and negates his own destruction.
