Episode 244: Sir Granmarg, the Eldest Knight
Yuji: It's settled. Before we go though….
He holds out his hand. Everyone looks at each other and puts their hands in the circle as well.
Yuji: Good luck everyone. Let us meet back here again as soon as we win our duels. No matter what we face, no matter what stands in our way, we will meet up here again and go home together!
They throw their arms up and run down different hallways through different doors. Cain and his team run down an orange hallway. Granmarg sits meditating when he opens his eyes, his helmet lying on his lap.
Sir Granmarg: And the gazelle enters the lion's den.
Opening [recap of season 3. Yuji races down the rod when a Dark Claw member challenges him. Serena and Sasuke stand in front of the school as Serena fights Yuji. Mushiro summons his Ally of Justice monsters as Yuji smashes through them. Raythe defeats Pirate and his duel gang. Alice fights the Dark Claw member underground. Luna destroys the Dark Claw member's Road Warriors. Yuji battles and defeats the evil teacher. Tyson loses to Sasuke as Light and Darkness Dragon flies. X and Raythe race down the road. Enzan duels the man as Yuji fights Duncan. Takimaru faces the masked boy as everyone enters the Riding Duel Cup. Raythe and Serena duel, then X and Cain. Enzan defeats Mushiro as Missile Warriors destroy the Oni monsters. Yuji fights and defeats Cain with Blade Warrior as Raythe defeats Enzan. Yuji and Raythe clash as Raythe loses. Yuji goes up against Zephyr and defeats him using Assault Mode. Yuji then fights a thief who summons a Blue- Eyes White Dragon]
Cain, Shaman, and Jack run down the hallway. Jack is panting in exhaustion and struggling to keep up.
Cain: Pick up the pace!
Shaman: You need to exercise more. You are terribly out of shape.
Jack: Great….now I'm being dissed by the old man….
Shaman smacks him on the head and blood squirts out.
Shaman: I'm not old!
Jack: Gah, you made me bleed! I'll kill you old man!
Cain looks back and sighs.
Cain: We don't make a likely trio. Maybe I should just ditch them…..no, it's like Raika always said. You never abandon your team in the thick of battle.
He has a sweat drop as the two continue to fight.
Cain: .….Even if it IS those two.
He suddenly snaps back ahead.
Jack: Huh? What?
Shaman: I sense it. Incredibly strong power is down that way.
Cain: Jeez….it had to be him. Come on, let's hurry.
They all run down the hallway. They come to a door and open it as they are on top of a mountain in the middle of a range.
Jack: Wait, huh?! What?! How?!
Shaman: They're holograms. Nothing to get too excited about.
Jack: Holograms huh? Wow….I'd love to get a look at their hologram projectors! They must be amazing!
Shaman: Now's not the time for that!
They begin fighting again as Cain walks ahead. Granmarg sits there meditating as he looks up.
Sir Granmarg: So we meet again….gazelle.
Cain: It's been a while, lion.
Sir Granmarg: ….I don't believe conversation is needed, right?
Cain: No. Guess not. Let's just cut to the chase. We are in a hurry.
Sir Granmarg: I see. I won't try to keep you long then. So please lose quickly.
Cain: Not going to happen!
He activates his Duel Disk. Granmarg slowly stands and puts his helmet on, holding his hand near the ground. A handle emerges as he pulls his sword out of the ground, earth falling from it as he holds it front of him.
Both: Duel! [Cain LP = 4000] [Sir Granmarg LP = 4000].
Sir Granmarg: I am going to take the first turn.
Cain: Hey, the lion making a move before the gazelle? That isn't exactly what I would call fair.
Sir Granmarg: Indeed. But if the gazelle moves first, the lion won't be able to catch it. This is simply to get things even. I draw. I set a monster on the field. Then I place one card face down and end my turn.
Cain: Here we go, draw! This guy used a Gem-Knight deck last time. That means he'll try to Fusion Summon. Then again, that was just his shabti. Who knows how powerful he really is. I'm sure that #3 title isn't just for show. I summon Mystic Swordsman LV 2 [ATK 900/DEF 0 LV 2]. Now I use the Spell card Level Up. This lets me take Mystic Swordsman and level him up. Come on out, Mystic Swordsman LV 4 [ATK 1900/DEF 1600 LV 4]. Let's get ready to fight! Whenever he attacks a monster in face down defense mode, he destroys it instantly.
Swordsman flies forward, chopping the monster in half with its sword. The monster briefly shows before dying.
Cain: A dinosaur? That's weird.
Sir Granmarg: Nicely done. I should have set some kind of trap. You got the better of me, good show.
Cain: As if I need compliments from you! I end my turn.
Sir Granmarg: Then it is my turn. I draw. I summon Jurrac Aeolo [ATK 200/DEF 200 LV 1].
Cain: I knew something wasn't right! That isn't your Gem-Knight deck!
Sir Granmarg: Come now gazelle. You did not honestly think I would reveal my strategy to you the first time we dueled right?
Cain: ….Gr. I should have guessed. I'm such a moron!
Sir Granmarg: Indeed. My shabti was only using a fake deck to test you. Had I used my real deck, you would have lost within seconds.
Cain: Whatever. No matter what deck you use against me, it won't make a difference. This duel will still be mine. Don't even try to win.
Jack: He sure is confident.
Shaman: No. It's an act. I can see it. Deep down, he's concerned. Even….scared.
Jack: Scared? Of what?
Shaman: Probably what I am. His pure power.
Sir Granmarg: Ha ha ha! How amusing for the gazelle to taunt the lion. I should bite you to punish you. I use the effect of Jurrac Aeolo. By sending this to the graveyard, I revive a level 4 or below Jurrac monster in the graveyard. I'll bring back the monster you ruthlessly killed. Come back to life, Jurrac Protops [ATK 1700/DEF 1200 LV 4]. For each monster my opponent controls, he gains 100 attack points [ATK 1800/DEF 1200 LV 4].
Cain: Sorry to disappoint you. But your monster isn't good enough.
Sir Granmarg: Yes, indeed. Let's fix that, shall we? I send Destroyersaurus to the graveyard. This lets me take Jurassic World and add it to my hand. Now I activate the Field Spell Jurassic World.
The field changes to a prehistoric jungle.
Sir Granmarg: When this card is out, all Dinosaur monsters gain 300 attack points and defense points [ATK 2100/DEF 1500 LV 4].
Cain: A Field Spell! That affects all cards on the field!
Sir Granmarg: Let's battle! Jurrac Protops attacks your monster.
Protops rams the monster and charges through it. Cain holds a hand up as a small breeze blows [Cain LP = 3800]
Cain: Damn….
Sir Granmarg: I have the first bite. My monster is weaker as a result [ATK 2000/DEF 1500 LV 4], but it's no problem. I end my turn.
Cain: Very well. Now I draw. I use Graceful Charity. I draw 3 cards and discard 2. Next I use Reinforcement of the Army. This allows me to take a level 4 or below monster in my deck and put him in my hand. Now I summon Goblin Attack Force [ATK 2300/DEF 0 LV 4].
Sir Granmarg: What an impressive monster. But with its appearance, my own monster gets stronger [ATK 2100/DEF 1500 LV 4].
Cain: Not a problem. I attack your Jurrac Protops with Goblin Attack Force!
They surround Protops and club it until it vanishes. Granmarg moans in pain from the backlash [Sir Granmarg LP = 3800].
Cain: Since I attacked, they go into defense mode [ATK 2300/DEF 0 LV 4]. I set a card and end my turn.
Jack: He's managed to even up their life points. That's good.
Shaman: Yes, but now his monster is in defense mode. That means he can easily lose it during his next turn.
Sir Granmarg: First I use the Trap card Miracle's Wake. This revives the monster you just destroyed. Come on Jurrac Protops [ATK 1700-2100/DEF 1200-1500 LV 4]. Then I release him in order to Advance Summon my Jurrac Herra [ATK 2300-2600/DEF 1500-1800 LV 6].
Cain: Damn! That Jurassic World keeps powering up his monsters. If I want to deal some feasible damage, I must take it out.
Sir Granmarg: Of course, your monster is in defense mode. Even if I attack, I won't deal any damage. Let's fix that. I equip my monster with Fairy Meteor Crush. This gives him the power to deal Piercing damage.
Shaman: If this hits….
Sir Granmarg: Let's battle. Jurrac Herra attacks your monster in defense mode. Stomp it into dust!
Cain: Trap card, Spirit Force! This lets me negate the damage from your attack!
Herra stomps on the monster, a barrier appearing to protect Cain from the explosion.
Sir Granmarg: I see. I couldn't deal damage to you after all. Too bad. I'll get my chance next turn.
Cain: We'll see. You assume you'll even have a next turn! I draw. I summon Acrobat Sniper [ATK 1200/DEF 300 LV 3]. By halving his attack points, he can wage a direct attack [ATK 600/DEF 300 LV 3]. Acrobat Laser!
It flips backwards and shoots Granmarg through the chest with a laser. He steps back gasping [Sir Granmarg LP = 3200].
Cain: I set a card. That ends my turn. At this time, the effect of Acrobat Sniper no longer applies [ATK 1200/DEF 300 LV 3]
Sir Granmarg: Your fight and retreat strategy are lost on me. Here we go, I draw. I summon Jurrac Brachis [ATK 1000-1300/DEF 1000-1300 LV 3]. Let's battle. Your monster won't hide from damage this turn. I attack with Jurrac Herra.
Cain: Gotcha. Trap card, No Entry! Now all monsters in attack mode are forced into defense mode. That includes your Jurrac Herra and Jurrac Brachis. [ATK 1200/DEF 300 LV 3] [ATK 1300/DEF 1300 LV 3] [ATK 2600/DEF 1800 LV 6].
Sir Granmarg: Damn. Clever of you. There appears to be nothing else I can do. I end my turn.
Cain: Looks like my draw now. I release Acrobat Sniper and Advance Summon my Crash Warrior [ATK 2000/DEF 500 LV 5]. When this guy is summoned, I remove from play the monster I released to summon him and raise his attack points by the attack points of the monster I released. He also gains the monster's effect [ATK 3200/DEF 500 LV 5].
Sir Granmarg: My monsters are in defense mode. Even if you attack, no harm will come to me.
Cain: I wouldn't be so sure. I use Arms Dealer. Now one Equip Spell on the field goes to my monster. I'll take that Fairy Meteor Crush thank you.
Sir Granmarg: Ho.
Cain: Let's get ready to battle! Destroy Jurrac Herra! Crash Beam!
It fires a beam of energy from its eyes that combine into one big beam that pierces through Herra. The monster blows up and Granmarg slides back from the force of the explosion, falling back on his back [Sir Granmarg LP = 1800].
Jack: Yeah! Nice hit!
Shaman: Not bad. A Sector Seven leader is so powerful. I can see why Enzan has so much faith in them now.
Sir Granmarg uses his sword as a walking stick and struggles to stand up, stumbling over a few times before he stands, wheezing and gasping.
Cain: Hey old timer, you don't seem so good. Looks like you should go right ahead and check yourself into an old folk's home.
Sir Granmarg: Yes, I'll admit. I am starting to get on in years. But that won't stop me. I have my own assignment to fulfill.
Cain: You're still serving the king? How on earth can you do that knowing the things he's done! Why?!
Sir Granmarg: I could say the same to you. Raika is gone, departed from Sector Seven. The leader you love, Michael, is lost to the ages. Akagi Kron got his start here. Why do you stay so loyal to Sector Seven, even now?
Cain: I believe in Sector Seven for the things they stand for. Peace, hope, evolution. Despicable people like you wouldn't understand that! You don't have loved ones to fight for! You don't have people who count on you and truly care about you. But just saying that stuff makes me sound like a jerk. I'll show how right I am by winning this duel and taking your sword! I end my turn.
Sir Granmarg: ….How assuming of you. To think I had no past before the Knights. Arrogant for a gazelle, don't you think. Perhaps….the lion should teach you the lesson about the grasslands. I draw. I use Refresh. This card can only be used if the life points I have are lower than my opponent's. I am then allowed to draw until I have 6 cards in my hand.
Cain: Seven cards? But why would he do that?
Sir Granmarg: I draw then. Yes, good cards. I summon my Jurrac Guaiba [ATK 1700-2000/DEF 400-700 LV 4]. Now I tune my level 3 Jurrac Brachis and my level 4 Jurrac Guaiba.
Brachis roars and becomes 3 rings that Guaiba flies through, becoming 4 stars [3 + 4 = 7]
Sir Granmarg: Roar, savage dinosaur! Synchro Summon! Show yourself, Jurrac Giganoto [ATK 2100-2400/DEF 1800-2100 LV 7].
Cain: You use Synchro as well?
Sir Granmarg: Using his effect, all Jurracs gain 200 for the number of Jurrac monsters in my graveyard. There are a total of 5 Jurrac monsters [ATK 3400/DEF 2100 LV 7]. But….this is not enough. I use De- Synchro. Now I send him back to my Extra Deck and summon back my original material monsters. Come, Jurrac Brachis [ATK 1000-1300/DEF 1000-1300 LV 4] and Jurrac Guaiba [ATK 1700-2000/DEF 400-700 LV 4].
Cain: But….why?
Sir Granmarg: Now for the Spell card Inferno Reckless Summon. When a monster with 1500 or less attack points is Special Summoned, I summon all copies in my deck. I summon two more Jurrac Brachis monsters [ATK 1000-1300/DEF 1000-1300 LV 4 each]. That's not all. I use the Spell card Double Summon. This lets me summon another monster from my hand this turn. I'll summon Jurrac Velo [ATK 1700-2000/DEF 1000-1300 LV 4]
Jack: A Creator?!
Shaman: No. His monsters levels are too high. Not to mention he has 3 Tuners out. He can't possibly summon anything unless….oh my.
Sir Granmarg: I tune my level 3 Jurrac Brachis and level 4 Jurrac Guaiba.
Brachis becomes 3 rings that Guaiba flies through, becoming 4 stars [3 + 4 = 7]
Roar, savage dinosaur! Synchro Summon! Show yourself, Jurrac Giganoto [ATK 2100-2400/DEF 1800-2100 LV 7].
Cain: That guy again?!
Sir Granmarg: And now he powers up all my monsters. Even if the number of monsters in my graveyard have not gone up. [ATK 3400/DEF 2100 LV 7] [ATK 2300/DEF 1200 LV 3 each] [ATK 3000/DEF 1300 LV 4].
Cain: Whoa….but I'm not worried. Crash Warrior negates his destruction once per turn by removing a Warrior monster. Attacking me is a big mistake. I equip this to one of my Jurrac Brachis monsters. Now it is no longer a Tuner monster. I tune the level 3 Jurrac Brachis that is a Tuner, level 3 Jurrac Brachis that is not a Tuner, and level 4 Jurrac Velo.
Brachis becomes 3 rings that that Brachis and Velo fly through, becoming 7 stars [3 + 4 + 3 = 10]
Sir Granmarg: Rip the sky and earth! Synchro Summon! Jurrac Meteor [ATK 2800/DEF 2000 LV 10]
Cain: Uh oh….
Sir Granmarg: Meteor has the power to destroy all cards on the field. Let the Ice Age come. Impact!
Cain: Don't think so! I remove from play Rubber Warrior. Now my monsters aren't destroyed by a card effect. But yours on the other hand, are!
The meteor plows into the ground, but Rubber Warrior appears and the Meteor hits it, bouncing it back at Granmarg's field, hitting the ground and creating a massive explosion that engulfs Granmarg.
Jack: Yeah, that got him!
Shaman: No. It can not be that easy.
Cain: This guy….#3? No way. Unless…..he has some kind of Trap set up!
Sir Granmarg: Fool. There is nothing you can do against me.
Cain's eyes widen when he sees both monsters still on the field.
Sir Granmarg: Synchro Medallion. During the turn it is sent to the graveyard, my Synchro monsters can not be touched. And don't forget the effect of Jurrac Giganoto. There are now 8 Jurrac monsters in the graveyard. Jurassic World was destroyed, by Giganoto powers up enough [ATK 3700/DEF 1800 LV 7] [ATK 4400/DEF 2000 LV 10]
Cain freezes up in fear and steps back.
Sir Granmarg: The Rock-Solid Ruler. The Wisest Knight. The Tres Warrior. My dueling skills even acknowledged the King's respect. Cain McKnight, you will lose this duel. You and everything you stand for. I'll crush you….and Sector along with you, gazelle.
Cain: Damn it. This….does not look good.
Ending [recap of season 3. Yuji keeps fighting as Blue- Eyes Shining Dragon appears. Yuji, Raythe, and Enzan fight against the duelist as Trident Dragion takes out Yuji. Alpha appears and takes out Hanson, revealing he is Yuji. He challenges Enzan and Raythe, coming back to his senses. Yuji is on the boat and defeats the Dark Claw admin. Enzan duels against the old man as he uses Yu-Jo Friendship. Hunter G and Mushiro work together against the two Dark Claw members. They all attack their new base and Yuji and Raythe fight the two computers. Raythe faces the thief and destroys Catapult Turtle. Serena and Raythe then do battle and Raythe is able to defeat her. She and Raythe team up to take on X and Sasuke. Yuji fights another Dark Claw member and summons Toolbox Warrior. He then fights Enzan and takes out Unbreakable Fortress, celebrating his birthday. Des Blood defeats the guard and frees all the prisoners, summoning a shadow. Raythe and Des Blood fight, revealing his identity as Akagi Kron and summons World's End Dragon, finishing him off. Yuji and Kron then, destroying Dragon using Seven- Star Knight, but the real Dragon appears. The Seven Stars try to fight it and fuse into the Knight. It pierces the chest of the monster and it blows up. At last, Yuji defeats X again and all the Seven Stars watch the sun]
